  • The White House is Silent Regarding the COVID-19 Uptick...

I wonder why...I guess the warm weather didn't kill it... I'm actually surprised that Trump isn't flapping his gums trying to blame someone else... So, more BS from the administration...

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...cid=spartandhp
The coronavirus is still killing as many as 1,000 Americans per day — but the Trump administration isn’t saying much about it.
It’s been more than a month since the White House halted its daily coronavirus task force briefings. Top officials like infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci have largely disappeared from national television — with Fauci making just four cable TV appearances in May after being a near fixture on Sunday shows across March and April — and are frequently restricted from testifying before Congress. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is preparing to
    resume his campaign rallies
after a three-month hiatus, an attempted signal to voters that normalcy is returning ahead of November’s election, and that he’s all but put the pandemic behind him.
“We’ve made every decision correctly,” Trump
    claimed in remarks
in the Rose Garden Friday morning. “We may have some embers or some ashes or we may have some flames coming, but we’ll put them out. We’ll stomp them out.”
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Even Bergen County, one of the worst effected counties in the USA has significantly decreased COVID reporting despite the still bad situation. I believe it is due to the incessant political and business pressures.

COVID news is still very important - last town report some 5% of the population of my town (2) was infected at around 1300 cases in early May. Now, a month later Bergen County has a few thousand more cases and I still haven't gotten a town number (town numbers were being reported up to twice a week in local media). I can only extrapolate from the county number that it is 1300- 2,000 cases right now.

Considering what the "shutdown/lockdown" has done to the economy, if we resume such, we should also cut in half all government worker pensions and pay, especially at upper management levels and of elected officials, so that the pain is shared, just not "felt".

There are no longer any COVID-19 updates from the president or the task force. Why is that?

Would you include military pensions as well as disability pay? And for what reason? Pensions are earned and they are not a 'gift.' Go peddle sour grapes somewhere else.

Everyone has earned and everyone is essential ...
                    HOWEVER ...
The case in my state is far from unique. We have a Left-Wing Democrat governor whom has and is exercising dictatorial powers far beyond those the rabid detractors would imply are displayed by POTUS Trump.

Governor Inslee in March invoked his "emergency" powers to decide unilaterally which private businesses, and their employees, were "essential" and which were not. In one stroke of abuse of Executive authority/power he placed many of the businesses, the wealth makers, on the thresholds of bankruptcy, denying them and their employees the freedom to EARN income themselves. Meanwhile, the guv'mint agencies and depts, remain "essential" and their employees retain compensation. He himself still gets his $190,000+ annual salary, his rent free "governor's mansion", and his private barber, etc. In essence the wealth takers will continue to loot, and deepen the Debt of our State, and Nation.

                    In this "corona virus crisis" we've all been bombarded with the quasi-Marxist slogan;

"We are all in this together."

The is another Left-Wing lie right out of the pages of Orwell's "1984"!

We are NOT "all" in this together.

Only the risk taking private sector of the economy, the many business owners FORCED to be closed and their employees out of their jobs are paying the price of this "pandemic" by loosing their ability to EARN. The lucky will be several months to years in recovering what they have lost and been set back. Too many others will be made bankrupt and loose their life savings, in the case of many small businesses where a mortgage on the home was the seed capital, they will also loose that.

While the risk taking, wealth creating/making foundation of the economy is being burdened with the financial costs of government mismanagement of this "pandemic", the usual suspects of wealth takers/looters will continue their plunder.

This is not "sour grapes" here. We will see a cure that is more harmful and destructive than the disease.

"Some" could at least voluntarily share the hardship, which would/should only be a few months, but likely won't.

Even much maligned and denigrated POTUS Trump has been donating his salary to other causes, most recently to fight the corona virus.

Trump is ignoring the dangers from COVID-19

                      https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...cid=spartandhp
President Trump drew a few laughs and hollers of approval Thursday when he railed against
"the plague coming in from China" to supporters packed into a Dallas church.

But he didn't dwell on public health concerns. The virus, "or whatever you want to call it," as he told the crowd, is now just another throw-away line in Trump's political patter, meant to jab a foreign adversary and energize his base.

Nearly six weeks after Trump stopped daily televised briefings at the White House that drew sharp criticism for his false claims and dangerous advice -- such as injecting household disinfectant to kill the virus -- he has a new tactic: ignoring the threat.

He rarely speaks of COVID-19, which has killed more than 114,000 people in the United States and more than 300,000 others elsewhere in the world. When he does mention it, he usually claims imminent victory -- pledging on June 5, for example, to "stomp out" any "embers" of the disease.

                        Wear your mask...

                        https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/hea...cid=spartandhp
Requiring the wearing of masks to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in areas at the epicenter of the global pandemic may have prevented tens of thousands of infections, a new study suggests.

                          New CDC guidelines...

Now that cities are reopening after closing to prevent the spread of COVID-19, you must have a ton of questions, many of which involve the risk you're taking as you reenter society and engage with people, take public transportation and—yikes—possibly get sick. The CDC just announced a series of questions to ask yourself to "help determine your level of risk." Click through to see them verbatim, and all the valuable answers.

Why? Because of the dems hypocrisy:

                            https://www.newsweek.com/democrats-h...-1510325?amp=1

The numbers were bound to increase with the dems saying it was okay to have mass protests.

                              Why not?
A month and a half ago the conservatives here were screaming about people being denied the right to protest, and corona contamination didn't matter.
And now the reverse would be more appropriate?
