  • Whitmer Again

    Sigh...

The owner of a Northern Michigan dock company says Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's husband wanted his boat placed in the water before the Memorial Day weekend as Whitmer urged residents not to rush to the region.

"This morning, I was out working when the office called me, there was a gentleman on hold who wanted his boat in the water before the weekend," Dowker posted. "Being Memorial weekend and the fact that we started working three weeks late means there is no chance this is going to happen."

"Well our office personnel had explained this to the man and he replied, 'I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?'"
Not really a surprise. She and her family reportedly vacationed on Mackinac Island over Easter, and vehicles have been spotted at her vacation home up north for the past week.

In the meanwhile, Governor Cathcartt has extended the stay at home order until June 12th. I guess she forgot to tell her husband.

The only acceptable answer would have been "No. You would not want the news to report that you asked to be placed ahead of citizens who are locked down".

Then I would have released it anyway.

The only reason people get away with this crap is because others let them.

Just like "You ain't black!" was a joke, so was this.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Tuesday her husband "made a failed attempt at humor" in asking for the installation of his boat to be sped up in a call last week to a Northern Michigan dock company.
Ok, Gretchen, it was a joke, but what was he doing up there in the first place when he lives down state?

It is not so much that the two tiered justice system is getting worse, it's just that the ability of ordinary people to disseminate information is greater and the abusers are getting dumber.

Didn't think I could find a governor worse than CA but you have a winner in MI.

In the end the dam collapses will be her ultimate undoing. Probably AG Nessel's as well. If there is any hanky panky with all those "loose" absentee ballots in November, Secretary of State Benson will be gone as well.

Some of the latest goings on regarding Whitmer and her agencies.

              From the Detroit News:

Michigan agencies have served the owners of the failed Edenville dam with a warrant to inspect the structure for safety violations and the Wixom Lake bed and adjacent wetlands for evidence that mussels or other aquatic creatures were harmed by its failure last month.

Last Wednesday's warrant, backed by federal wildlife agencies and signed by Clare County Magistrate Steven Worpell, came after the state in early May sued dam owner Boyce Hydro for low lake levels that allegedly killed mussels in Wixom Lake.

The warrant comes as questions persist over whether regulators were more concerned in the months preceding the dam's failure about an endangered mussel or the high risk to human life posed by a structure with known safety defects.
Another story broke that she wanted to cut the dam repair funding by over 40%. Again, per the Detroit News.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer last year wanted a 43% cut for a Michigan dam repair and maintenance program, but the Republican-controlled Legislature restored the money in the final budget bill she signed seven months before the Edenville Dam broke due to years of mismanagement.

When the potential buyers of the dam last year requested $1.6 million from the grant program for proposed work that would likely have begun this summer, Whitmer's Department of Natural Resources denied the request because it did not meet the priorities and criteria of the grant program.

When asked May 21 about additional funding for dams statewide, Whitmer maintained in a press briefing that she’d love to increase funding for dams, but needed the cooperation of the Legislature and federal government to do so.

“I ran on fixing the damn roads, but we all know that it wasn’t just roads. It was dams and roads,” the Democratic governor said. She indicated her 45-cent-a-gallon gas tax increase proposal that would have generated $1.9 billion for state infrastructure such as roads and bridges could have provided additional cash for dams, but “was not embraced with a lot of enthusiasm.”

Michigan has appropriated $350,000 annually to the state DNR’s dam management grant program since 2013, with additional one-time appropriations throughout the years. Public and private dam owners can apply for money and technical assistance to remove, repair and maintain dams when those activities enhance fishing opportunities and aquatic resources in the area.

But in her first budget, Whitmer proposed $200,000, a cut of $150,000 or a more than 40% slash, to the dam management program.
The State Board of Canvassers today approved the Petition to recall Governor Whitmer. The recall movement has 60 days to get nearly 1.1 million signatures beginning July 1st.

The Governor of WA is giving Whitmer a run for her money for the dumbest Governor in the USA.
Right now, Walz is slightly ahead of Whitmer for not knowing Antifa took over his biggest city.
