Which Dems are the ones blocking all efforts to get America back on track, insisting on lots of pork and self-indulged pay raises while demanding panic and martial law? You mean those? The Democrats?

Politically, I have no dog in this fight. However, I've always wondered whenever I see someone respond like this: Are you really setting the bar that low? Just to be as bad as the other guys?

I wonder if people realize how bad that sounds.

More like none of them have shown a milligram of leadership or intelligence on this. Biden hides in a basement. Pelosi is lost in space somewhere. The rest of the Democrats in Congress are surprisingly quiet. The only Democrat in the news consistently is Cuomo and he sure as hell doesn't speak for America, just the more urban parts of New York state.

All we're getting from the MSM is a drumbeat about how this could, maybe, possibly, might be worse because some "expert" they found somewhere has a model or graph or whatever and a piece of paper framed on their wall saying they're educated, says that that's the potential case. Doesn't matter that so far their dire predictions have been grossly blown out of proportion and their modelling wrong.
Top that nonsense off with a thick frosting of fear mongering, Monday morning quarterbacking, and the ever present use of hindsight to bash Trump and stir public opinion.

I keep hearing how Trump should have done stuff sooner. Well, the Democrats and MSM were completely enthralled in their rush to impeach Trump at the time so, they're just kettles calling the pot black.

It looks like Trump and his minions are attempting to dodge another responsibility:

                    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...cid=spartandhp
With Congress haggling over the next stimulus package for an economy battered by the COVID-19 pandemic, officials in New York and New Jersey took aim at the federal government on Thursday, pleading for help.

No state has suffered more from the coronavirus outbreak than New York, which has more than 14,000 reported deaths. More than 11,000 of those fatalities have occurred in New York City, where Mayor Bill de Blasio said he has made another direct appeal to President Donald Trump.

“I made clear to the president that his hometown needs him,” De Blasio said. “All New Yorkers, 8.6 million, are watching the White House right now to see if the president will lead.”

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, who reported 362 new deaths in his state, delivered a similar message, saying he and other governors in the Northeast had requested as much as $150 billion in aid.

“While the CARES Act was a very good step in the right direction, we need a lot more direct cash assistance,” he said, referring to the previous stimulus package. “There’s just no way around that.”

Thursday saw national totals for COVID-19 continue to rise, with more than 650,000 confirmed cases and more than 32,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

In northern Illinois, a nursing home became the latest such facility to report more than 20 deaths. Kansas City, Mo., Mayor Quinton Lucas extended his city’s restrictions until the middle of next month. “I’m not going to sacrifice the health of Kansas City,” he said. “This is the best option for us.”

In Wisconsin, Democratic Gov. Tony Evers’ extension of that state’s stay-at-home order until late May was met with anger from Republican state lawmakers, who threatened legal action and curbs on his power.

Financial concerns weighed heavily on state and local governments in the hours before Trump unveiled national guidelines on easing restrictions and allowing businesses to reopen. The White House’s guidelines are only recommendations; stay-at-home orders have been issued by states and local governments.

In Richmond, Va., protesters gathered at the Capitol Square in the latest in a series of demonstrations against imposed lockdowns. In Louisiana, GOP House Minority Whip Steve Scalise pointed to resuming business, in a modified way, as the best solution to the money woes states are facing.

And then we have this problem:

                      https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/16/polit...-16/index.html

President Donald Trump inaccurately declared at Thursday's White House coronavirus briefing that some states do not have "any problem" with the virus's outbreak, minimizing the situation even in the least-affected states.

Trump also repeated his incorrect suggestion that he has the power to decide when governors lift their pandemic-related restrictions. And he argued that "people should have told us" about the virus, omitting the fact that he continued to downplay the virus for weeks after public warnings.

We fact checked these items below.

As part of the administration's three-phase recommendation for re-opening the country, Trump said some states could be ready to enter phase one of the reopening process as soon as Friday because, when it comes to coronavirus, "you have states without any problem." He added that some states are "at a point where there is almost nothing" in terms of coronavirus cases, and that "you have states with few cases and those few cases have healed."

Facts First: It's not true that some states currently don't have "any problem" related to coronavirus. At the time the President spoke, all 50 states each had more than 200 confirmed cases, and 41 states have more than 1,000 confirmed cases. There is no definitive state-by-state data on how many infected people have recovered.
Wyoming, which has the fewest cases of any state, has reported 288 cases. While Trump was hesitant to name which specific states could be the first to reopen, none of them have close to zero cases, according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University. Further, testing issues have raised concerns that cases or deaths are being undercounted, so it's difficult to know the accuracy of the existing data.
Trump has made similar false claims in past briefings. In early April, he said that certain states, specifically those without stay-at-home orders, were "not in jeopardy" or at risk from the coronavirus. The number of coronavirus cases in all those states, except Wyoming, have since more than doubled, though two of them -- Wyoming and North Dakota -- remain among the five states with the least amount of cases.

A career filled with tricky sales pitches has reached its apex for President Trump. With Americans dubious of his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and

about trying to return to normal too quickly, Trump hopes to convince the country that some places or some states can begin to scale back social distancing measures that have helped contain the virus’s spread.

The buck stops with the cowardly and self-serving Democratic Congress, period.

Voted themselves a pay raise during a national crisis while millions of Americans are told they cannot go to work? Beneath contempt.
