    • And now we have 'Rudy the Science Guy.'

More stupidity to add to the Trump administration...

      https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...cid=spartandhp

Rudolph W. Giuliani, who was in the center of the impeachment storm earlier this year as an unpaid private attorney for President Trump, has cast himself in a new role: as personal science adviser to a president eager to find ways to short circuit the coronavirus epidemic.

In one-on-one phone calls with Trump, Giuliani said, he has been touting the use of an anti-malarial drug cocktail that has shown some early promise in treating covid-19, but whose effectiveness has not yet been proved. He said he now spends his days on the phone with doctors, coronavirus patients and hospital executives promoting the treatment, which Trump has also publicly lauded.

“I discussed it with the president after he talked about it,” Giuliani said in an interview. “I told him what I had on the drugs.”

Giuliani’s advice to Trump echoes comments the former New York mayor has made on his popular Twitter feed and a podcast that he records in a makeshift radio studio installed at his New York City apartment, where he has repeatedly pushed the drug combination, as well as a stem cell therapy that involves the extraction of what Giuliani termed “placenta ‘killer cells.’ ”

The former New York mayor is part of a chorus of prominent pro-Trump voices who at first downplayed the severity of the virus and then embraced possible cures — worrying health experts who fear such comments undermine efforts to slow the virus’s spread and downplay the risks of the unproven treatments.

Giuliani’s controversial comments have helped him regain a bit of the prominence he had during impeachment — last week, he was back in the spotlight when Twitter briefly locked his account for promoting misinformation about covid-19.

“He’s been out of the news and out of the limelight since the end of the impeachment drama,” said Andrew Kirtzman, a Giuliani biographer who is currently writing his second book about the former New York mayor. “What you’re seeing is an effort to regain relevance.”

No one that does not want to look like a working clown or Roger Stone buys a suit from Walmart.

A common mistake for Trump-bashers is just always to assume. Trump buys off the rack and most of it is not even that high end and it never couture. That is why his clothes don't fit well. Many uber rich people buy one of a kind designed tailed specifically for them. Trump wears what anyone can buy at Nordstrom or similar, not Bevely Hills of Fifth Avenue boutiques. He is a lot less vain than all the celebrities that bash HIM about being vain. Trump's real vanity weakness is probably just his hair. Just shave it and be done with it.

I've started to see studies coming out. I look forward to making you eat your words with this endless string of bullshite from the MSM about how a 'possible' treatment 'won't work'.

The studies are currently showing that hydroxychloroquine and azithromicin is proving to be one of the most effective treatment regimens for novel coronavirus symptoms.

Primary reason for quoting this: To preserve it for posterity so it cannot be edited or destroyed. This argument is one borne of reckless hatred, and I look forward to the opportunity to execute this argument with prejudice.

It isn't from the MSM. It is from the senior medical people. And what 'studies' are you referring to? What you are ignoring is Trump's incompetence and his reckless behavior during the pandemic.

President Trump on Sunday forcefully touted the use of hydroxychloroquine as a potential means to combat or even prevent the onset of symptoms from the coronavirus, wading further into a medical debate that has put him at odds with some of his top health experts.

Trump said the government has stockpiled 29 million pills of the drug, which is also used to treat lupus. For a second consecutive day, he suggested even those without coronavirus symptoms might consider taking the drug despite limited evidence about its efficacy in treating the virus.

"What do you have to lose?" he said. "I'm not looking at it one way or another. But we want to get out of this. If it does work, it would be a shame if we didn't do it early."

"What do I know? I'm not a doctor," he added. "But I have common sense."

And now you have Peter Novarro, who has shown himself to be just short of a moron, arguing with Dr Fauci regarding the malaria drug and how it has not undergone any definitive studies as being useful against the coronavirus.

                          https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/05/polit...ent/index.html

There was a heated disagreement in the Situation Room this weekend over the efficacy of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine -- but multiple sources say it was mostly one-sided, as President Donald Trump's top trade adviser Peter Navarro feuded with other officials over the drug's unproven effectiveness to treat coronavirus.

The debate is not a new one inside the coronavirus task force -- and medical experts have repeatedly explained to the President that there is a risk in enthusiastically touting hydroxychloroquine in case the drug doesn't ultimately work to combat the virus. But other aides and outside advisers have sided with Trump, including Navarro, who is still not a formal part of the task force but has wedged himself into the meetings.

Axios first reported on the disagreement inside the White House about the drug.
While discussing the latest on hydroxychloroquine this weekend, an exasperated Navarro lashed out at Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the advisers who has urged caution about the drug, a person familiar with the meeting told CNN.

Navarro had brought a stack of paperwork with him into the Situation Room on the drug, arguing it was proof that it could work to treat coronavirus, which Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, disagreed with because it was not data.
"What are you talking about?" Fauci asked -- a question that set Navarro off. He became indignant, and at one point, accused Fauci of opposing Trump's travel restrictions on China, which confused many in the room, given Fauci was one of the initial few to agree with Trump on the move, the source said.

A source close to the task force said Fauci is not backing off his belief that hydroxychloroquine is not a proven treatment for coronavirus. When CNN's Jeremy Diamond asked Fauci to comment on the matter Sunday night, Trump stepped in and didn't allow Fauci to answer. But a source said the doctor has already offered his opinion on the drug in other venues and would continue to do so.

Several aides later said they were unfazed by Navarro's outburst, given he has them regularly. But the argument highlights how deep the divide runs over the task force's response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Another source told CNN that despite the disagreement in the Situation Room between Fauci and Navarro, Fauci continues to have a good relationship with Trump and Pence, though some staffers have shown irritation when his opinions differ.

Trump in recent days has pointed to hydroxychloroquine as a treatment despite scant scientific evidence of the drug's effectiveness.

Without citing evidence, Trump said at Sunday's briefing that hydroxychloroquine is a "great" and "powerful" anti-malaria drug "and there are signs that it works on this, some very strong signs."

For people without heart problems, Trump recommended combining hydroxychloroquine with azithromycin, a common antibiotic. He said azithromycin "will kill certain things that you don't want living within your body."

Yet there is little reliable evidence that the drugs -- either alone or in combination -- are effective at treating the novel coronavirus.

Still, Trump said: "What do you have to lose? What do you have to lose?"

                            r. Anthony Fauci, the U.S. government’s top infectious disease specialist, warned in early 2017 that a “surprise outbreak” would occur during the Trump administration, and he said that more needed to be done to prepare for a pandemic.

“There is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming administration in the arena of infectious diseases,” he said in a speech titled “Pandemic Preparedness in the Next Administration” at Georgetown University Medical Center. He delivered it just days before Trump was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2017.

Fauci, who has overseen the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984, warned that looming health challenges would involve both chronic diseases ― ones already ongoing ― as well as “a surprise outbreak.”

Trump promoted it while Democrats denounced it and some even outlawed it - denying people the medicine that could save their lives.
