  • Republicans : Stop Greenlighting Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants Act

Republicans in the House and the Senate are introducing legislation that would block federal funds from states that allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses -- the latest move in an escalating fight over “sanctuary” laws.

The Stop Greenlighting Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants Act would block funds to sanctuary states -- which limit local cooperation with federal immigration authorities -- and those that give licenses to illegal immigrants. Specifically, it would halt Justice Department (DOJ) grants, in particular those awarded under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, which is a top source of federal criminal justice funding for states.

Maybe they should toss in federal highway funding too. That'd get state's attention PDQ. After all, do we really want illegals driving around in the US? In Arizona illegals are the leading cause of a party not having insurance on a vehicle. That's because illegals know they can always self-deport or get deported and not have to pay the other party.

Maybe they need that licence to drive to California to get some of that free health care...

No...especially becuse they do not carry insurance and that cost gets passed on to us, as do all the other unseen costs.

No..they are given that license by the Democrats so that they can vote. In many states, that is all that is required to register.

            Got it!
They need the licence so that they can all vote for the local Dems to get Amnesty and disband I.C.E.

            Makes perfect sense!

In Cali the problem is the registration system is too subtle so most don't know they're registered to vote to begin with. Hence the need for ballot harvesting...

You mean the opportunity for Dems to gather illegal votes.

I thought the right likes states rights? Oh well, I guess only "red state rights" and everyone else can eat hay.
Don't republicans already get enough welfare for their states? Now they're trying to get more? How about start implementing better policies for the middle class.

The question is can states supersede Federal law without a Supreme Court decision.

Many Federal laws do violate the original concept of States Rights. You can blame the abolitionists for that. Slavery should have been ended by a Constitutional amendment but that is not how things played out.

Without States Rights the Constitution is largely unworkable. The fact that this has never been addressed is testimony to how little deference people in general have for the rule of law.

The government is soon going to have to determine if civil war is the answer to the states' wanting their rights restored.

As for whom is to blame for them being taken away, Wolf, that was Lincoln's doing.

Except, it's the blue states that have the most welfare recipients.

                            http://worldpopulationreview.com/sta...ents-by-state/

Going by percentage of population doesn't work because this waters down high population state's welfare and over emphasizes low population state's welfare.

California is the welfare queen of the US.

The Michigan College Access Network said the $30,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan will be used to aid the new Michigan Coalition for Undocumented Student Success.

The debate was brutal, to their idea of giving Grants to those immigrant students that are in this country ILLEGALLY - Which they defended.

If they are not investigated for encouraging illegal immigration, it will be proof that Democrats are in total control of the Detroit Metro area.
