  • Another Foreign Policy Failure...

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...cid=spartandhp

Christmas has come and gone in North Korea with no apparent "gift" thus far bestowed on the United States by the secluded, secretive nation.

North Korea's Kim Jong Un, impatient with the progress of Korean Peninsula denuclearization talks between the two nations, had promised an unspecified Christmas gift for the U.S. if no deal was struck. Pyongyang's time zone is 14 hours ahead of Washington.

The veiled threat came after months of sometimes diplomacy, sometimes bluster and little progress between the two nations. President Donald Trump met with Kim at the Hanoi Summit in late February, which led to working-level talks in Stockholm in October. Trump has consistently framed the negotiations in positive terms, but no concrete agreements have been reached.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

So just like all the past administrations then.

Well, at least Little Rocket Man has stopped shooting them over Japan into the Pacific, etc... I'd say that's a success compared to Obama's term where LRM was firing them pretty regularly giving the whole region a reason to want to invade and smash him.

Trump's 'diplomacy' with North Korea has failed. That should be obvious even to the most ignorant observer. Inept and incompetent along with being impeached appear to be Trump's legacy.

          North Korea-failure.
          Russia-failure.
          Iran-failure.
          Syria-failure.

And now the Russians, Chinese, and Iranians are having combined naval maneuvers in the Indian Ocean-another failure.

North Korea-same as every administration before him.
Russia-same as the previous administration except he has tougher tariffs.
Iran-got us out of a one sided treaty and is NOT sending billions of $ to terrorist.
Syria-has not gotten us involved any deeper in their civil war.

And now the Russians, Chinese, and Iranians are having combined naval maneuvers in the Indian Ocean-another failure. Should we attack and sink the Russian, Chinese and Iranian navies to prevent them from doing something that we do with our allies all the time? Seems a bit extreme to me but hey if you want to go to war with the rest of the world form your own country and do it on your own dime.

The idea that the Russians, Chinese, and Iran are cooperating militarily is significant and troubling. And they are cooperating because of the weakness of the Trump administration's foreign policy, if you can even call it that.

I do find it amazing that no matter what Trump does and fails to do, you and others always support him and give excuses for his repeated failures.

Did it ever occur to you that they might be cooperating because they see the U.S. as stronger then themselves and feel the need to form alliances to match our strength? No of course it wouldn’t since to you Trump is only hurting the U.S. and never helping it.

Perhaps if he went on an apology tour you would feel better about our foreign policy and think we were stronger.

Do you complain about other US Presidents who haven’t found a way to make peace with North Korea also?

Given that the Iranian Blue water navy dates form the late 1960's early seventies- hopefully the Russchi's bought liferafts and tugboats....

The Russians brought those for their own fleet. Maybe the Chinese have a few to spare.

And Clinton gave N. Korea billions not to make nuclear weapons which they're still doing...

Obama did nothing (how usual is that?) and N. Korea was firing ICBMS over Japan into the Pacific...

Yet, because Trump didn't meet the high expectations he set for himself he's a "failure" while these others are not...?

What high expectations? More like a personal fantasy. He was completely taken in by a much younger dictator. Trump is a dupe.

What would you have done that every other President hasn’t?
