  • Why is Trump Meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister...

...in the Oval Office (for the second time).

    https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/...e-ebof-vpx.cnn

Ex-FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe explains why the photograph tweeted by President Trump of his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the Oval Office is so extraordinary.

'Russian is the most significant enemy on the world stage'-Andrew McCabe
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Are you seriously questioning the authority of the person in charge of foreign policy to engage in foreign policy?

The fact that McCabe questions this kind of ruins any credibility he has too.

Churchill to Chamberlain: you had a choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war.

We had a phone allowing a direct line of communication from the Oval Office to the Kremlin back when we were literally about to play Nuke Tennis with Russia.

Meeting with, and speaking to, foreign officials is literally the job of the Head of State. Including ones from countries that we might not like all that much. We might be able to simply ignore the foreign minister of Zimbabwe for instance. But we cannot simply 'brush off' the Russians....it would be like brushing off the Chinese or any other major power that is capable of causing widespread global problems if they so choose.

I am when there were no other Americans in the room, just as there was the last time when Trump gave the Russians classified information from the Israelis that the Israelis did not want divulged.

Sometimes there is a fine line between diplomacy and intrigue. I am afraid this is more the latter.

Your misguided devotion to Trump who cannot be trusted to act in the best interests of the United States is very troubling. And the 'visit' by the Russian foreign minister when Trump is going to be impeached is not coincidental. Trump is in bed with the Russians and that is supporting an enemy of the United States.

And that was monitored, as Trump's meetings are not. Trump has met with the Russian foreign minister and Putin without any Americans in the room.

Does that not trouble you? Or, are you so in the Trump camp that anything he does cannot be questioned?

Trump is receiving his latest instructions from Putin on how to speed up the destruction of America and what little influence she has on the world now,,,,,Maybe not in my life time (83) one day you will wake up to a different flag and national anthem if you continue to let this ignorant madman run your country. ...

Like I posted in another thread, 'Trump is the Founders' worst nightmare': Demagogue, corrupt, ignorant, dishonest, pathological liar, selfish and self-absorbed, and definitely against the Constitution.

Not the manner in which he is handling the meetings. He is a Russian/Putin pawn and is acting like it. And that could be disastrous to the country.

That you believe it is OK for him to act this way, with no other American in the room, is nave at best. The Russians cannot be trusted and should be treated that way. Their foreign policy since at least Ivan the Great has been one of expansion, and they have never been a faithful or loyal ally to anyone.

And Trump has not done his job with any type of either credibility or competence since the day he was inaugurated.

I am not relevant to your implicit assertion that Trump no longer has the authority explicitly granted to him under the Constitution.
The fact that you don't like him doesn't override his authority.

Your effort to try and make it about me just exposes how empty your complaint is.
My "misguided devotion" doesn't change the scope of the president's authority, nor make my question inaccurate.
                    Sorry about that.

If only our Constitution provided for a way that the people could select the guy they wanted to run our foreign policy and meet with foreign leaders.
Too bad our Constitution didn't give us a way to do that. Every 4 years.
