Have Israel or Saudi Arabia use their troops perhaps to help out Afghanistan. Point is we have to mix things up. Where there is a will there is a way and there is some sort of way to make Afghanistan better.
The soviets destroyed a functioning society and put in place a dysfunctional one. Afghanistan was fairly modern pre invasion

That is a sweeping generalization fallacy as opposed to there were "beautiful" communists who were good people. There were obviously personally / socially good Communists, just as there are such among Nazis, Democrats, Republicans, Rightists, Leftists, etc.
On the other hand, there aren't good Communists as far as their political positions go. Communism demands a dictatorship. You can't have a Communist economy or government that's not. Centralized operation of both is a fundamental requirement for a Communist government and that in turn means a dictatorship with a massive central bureaucracy to run everything. The result is the destruction of a society and the people in it.

So, while I could be nice and friendly to a Communist on a social or personal level, I would still hold nothing but contempt and derision for their political and economic views and beliefs. Same goes for a Nazi, or a Socialist, or a Sovereign Citizen.

What we have in history is diversity among Communists. A so called Nazi otoh was loyal to Hitler and his ideologies. Hitler was also a Catholic and was followed by hundreds of millions of Christians. There has never been a good so called Nazi, because of the ones that did for example support freeing Jews and ended up in the camps themselves...they opposed the ideology of the Third Reich by committing those actions while huge masses of Christians supported Hitler. While the Reich was not a religious movement, it was supported by a huge mass of Christians, and no modern day AQ movement ever reached that type of popularity among Muslims.

With Communists reach in The Soviet Union biggest of all, but also Asia and the middle east we can see a diveristy among Communists. Even Tito from Yugoslavia has won respect of US conservatives. Communists have differed on how to implement a successful communist society. I dont want Communism for the USA but recognize the common sense that good Communists in Yemen, Afghanistan and other areas of the middle east wanted equality among man and fought Muslim bigots to obtain such an end.

The Soviet Union though did help the allies win WW2. And the Soviets did help to obtain education for Muslim women in Afghanistan that would otherwise have not been tolerated.

You and Bwaha are the trolls here. You dont know me. I have experience with Muslims of all backgrounds including those from the former USSR. Hope you can come back to the discussion because you have not refuted my points.

I personally have an ex co worker of mine whom is a Muslim from the former USSR. A Muslim that is living in the USA that says that the times of Lenin and Stalin were better then what we see in modern day Russia or the USA, he is one of the nicest people I have ever meant. He had a Jewish Commander during his time in the Soviet Military in the 1970s.

From the time the USSR fell apart in the early 1990s until now, 1 million former Soviet Jews have left Russia for Israel. To this day Soviet Jews living in Israel are proud of their times in the USSR. Your staunch anti Communist stance is wrong, because in WW2 500,000 Soviet Jews were givin rifles while in the Third Reich the thought of giving Jews weapons was a sin.

I disagree with that. Anyone former so called Nazi that did go on to try and rescue Jews clearly went against the ideologies of the Reich.

Which was my point versus your blanket and broad-brush comment.

With respect I dont understand your pov. Im saying no good Nazis ever existed, are you disagreeing with that? Anyone whom worked to save Jews during WW2 was not a so called Nazi.

Gentlemen, the OP is not about Nazi's, please address the substance of the articles, the statements made by Generals and Admirals who commanded forces there and their concerns.
one was ordered by the Pentagon to spend 3mil a day, in a region the size of a small county, , other built schools and medical centers that never opened, but had everything of value stripped from it and sold, and we stood by and watched,
Dispite our best intentions, the system is dysfunctional that intelligence failure is guaranteed.

I made a mistake, I told you something personal and true, and you reacted in this way -

And yet, for the first time that I know of, you decided to respond to that knowledge by adding "beautiful" to your swift response, and anyone with any sense will know why you did that.
I said something that you did not like, and you responded in a way calculated to drive me mad.

Sorry, I woh't be playing your game.

Congratulations, you have found a way to make insulting and personal remarks that won't get the Mods after you. Its a very sneaky and slimy way of doing it, and I'll be you can even get my post removed without worrying about any of your own. But even if you monitor me and respond to every post I ever make again, you will never see me return your attentions.
I see you for what you are now, and there will be nothing more from me.

And this is the second time this morning I have had to deal with this sort of thing. The moderates here have very little to say, and the radicals are posting as if they want to flip me to the other side.
                          Why?
