There was no crime committed-that's in the Inspector General's Report. Comey violated policy, no more no less.

Therefore Comey is not a criminal. The OP is horse manure.

    Get over it.

And Townhall is a conservative right wing rag-what did you expect them to say?

the actual report is where it discusses comey's violations of FBI rules.
The operative words are: "violated", "failed", "dangerous" , "faulted" and "unauthorized". See pp 61-62

He ignored and violated FBI policy to suit his own purposes.
      Hardly a ringing endorsement.

'The report makes clear that Comey set a "dangerous example" in his use of the memos as a way to trigger a special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Comey wrote seven total memos about his interactions with Trump in the early days of the administration and had sent some of the documents to a friend, Dan Richman, with the express purpose of that friend leaking the details to the media. Comey's hope in all of that was that the information provided -- including Comey's allegation that, in a private meeting with Trump the President had asked the then FBI director to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn's contacts with the Russians -- would force the Justice Department to open a special counsel investigation. Which it did.'

'But the report is also clear that what Comey sent to be leaked contained no classified information, a finding that runs directly counter to Trump's insistence that Comey broke the law by leaking classified materials.'

'If you believe Trump is, at heart, a malignant force in the White House, then Comey's willingness to use step over the line is entirely justified in order to expose the depth and breadth of what was going on in the Trump administration. (The eventual special counsel report by Robert Mueller concluded that the Trump campaign did not collude with the Russians but did not make a determination on whether Trump had obstructed the investigation.) And that the IG report concluded that Comey had not, in fact, leaked classified information, is yet more proof that the President simply makes things up to tarnish his political enemies.'

Basically, Comey was a self-serving, bureaucratic, lying, sack-of-$h!+ sort of Delbert-like Pointy Haired Manager who let the guilty walk, covered up for higher ups, and was willing to try and torpedo anyone who crossed him.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. May Comey rot in obscurity on his government pension and be buried in an unmarked grave.

What did he lie about? His reaction to Trump's request for 'personal loyalty' was quite good. Trump is the scumbag, not Comey.

Your personal comments say much more about you than anyone else. In short, your choice of words and the hate that goes with them are despicable.

So, it all depends on what Comey feels is right?
The report made explicit mention that Comey had other viable options to violating department policy. The ones he swore to follow.
Insted of following recognized and accepted procedures, he did what was best for him.
              Another hero.

Comey assured Trump he wasn't under investigation during their first meeting. He said he discussed with FBI leadership before his meeting with the president-elect whether to disclose that he wasn't personally under investigation. That was true; we did not have an open counter-intelligence case on him, Comey said. (Politico)
Clearly either Comey was lying out his @$$, given the whole Russia collusion special prosecutor that followed, or he was the most incompetent person to ever head the FBI.

"There was no corruption. There was no treason. There was no attempted coup. Those are lies, and dumb lies at that," Comey wrote. "There were just good people trying to figure out what was true, under unprecedented circumstances."
                https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...be/1265552001/

After the Strzok and Page memo / e-mail exchange, that too is pretty much a lie.

Comey either lied or was incredibly incompetent in filing the FISA court (Carter Page et. al.) requests in that he denies the use of the Steele dossier even as he lists it as a source. Judicial Watch won a lawsuit over this.

That's just a few of many. I would say Comey lied his @$$ off repeatedly because if he were just incompetent he'd never have retained the position he was in for as long as he did.

wow, you refuted something I never said.

I'm sure he is very proud of the findings in the IG report.

Comey knowingly mislead a FISA court which is a crime. Will he be prosecuted? Probably not because we really do have a two tier justice system as was proven by the way Hillary Clinton was handled, her husband before her, Ronald Reagan and Iran Contra, Nixon on the break in, O. J. Simpson, etc. etc.

For those engulfed in their childish TDS the question is what did Comey's conspiracy against Trump uncover? What high crimes and misdemeanors were committed accept by Comey himself.

I have worked with many of these stuffed shirt, sanctimonious, pretender, bureaucrats like Comey over the years. What makes them dangerous is they aren't all that bright but in a government job they are never held accountable.

When and how did Comey 'mislead a FISA court?

Do you have a source for that?

The essence of all that is that Comey used the Steele dossier even though he and his subordinates hadn't independently verified anything in it, knew that the DNC and Hillary's campaign paid for it, had fired Steele as being unreliable, and basically covered up everything negative about it.

That is absolute nonsense and it has been proven to be nonsense some time ago.

The first reference is nineteen months ago.

The second reference is by Mike Huckabee, Sarah Sanders' father and another unreliable Trumper.

And the Federalist cites the Nunes memo, Nunes being nothing more than a stooge for Trump.

Nice try, but you'll have to do better than that.
