Tariffs are a very traditional way for the government to influence economics between nations. They have only an indirect effect on the national economy since they don't regulate how a company does business unlike say safety or environmental regulations.

Obamacare for all intents took control of about 25% of the health insurance market and regulated the entire market through the types of policies that could be sold and the conditions they had to meet. Obama tried to regulate the coal and oil industry into bankruptcy, particularly coal. For example, in that area Obama's administration put massive areas of potential new production off limits, and then slow played permits for new drilling to a point where none was happening on public land.

Trump dumped all that and has massively increased permitting of new oil and gas wells.

Oil and gas pipelines have been fast tracked for completion. Basically, Obama regulated and foot drug this sector of the economy into stagnation whereas Trump has pushed hard to get far more production and economic value out of it.

Obama did push solar but that is a total loser.

Obama pushed hard for Ivanpah to open and be an example of how solar would be the future. Now the plant is an environmental mess, is losing money in operation to the point it may have to close, and is basically an unmitigated disaster. It is just one of many the Obama administration backed trying to go "green." His administration has cost the US taxpayer hundreds of billions in failed green technology he backed.

    Reality and your pacifier:

Donít Assume Trumpís Approval Rating Canít Climb Higher. It Already Has.
Millions of Americans who did not like the president in 2016 now say they do.

Sure they are. They are just not as left leaning or spewing as much bile as you like. You seem to forget each time that FOX sicced that woman with that had blood coming out her whatever against Trump and Trump boycotted a FOX debate.

James Cavell, Bill Clinton's campaign manager had it right: "It's the economy stupid!" People aren't going to vote for "I'm not Trump" any more than they voted for "I'm not Obama." The voters that works best with are ones that already won't be voting for the person targeted.
