  • Philadelphia residents heckled police during standoff, guns are the problem?

While police officers risked their lives to take a dangerous wanted felon off the streets residents heckled, harassed and threw objects at the officers.
Gun control is not going to change the street gang culture that permeates the cities the US.

Philly's history with that sort of thing is . . . . interesting to say the least.

A state police helicopter this evening dropped a bomb on a house occupied by an armed group after a 24-hour siege involving gun battles.

A 90-minute shootout this morning came after a week of growing tension between the city and the group, known as Move. Residents in the western Philadelphia neighborhood had complained about the group for years. The only known survivors from within the house were a woman and a child.

The fire spread to 50 to 60 other houses in the neighborhood, said the Fire Commissioner, William Richmond. He declared the fire under control about 11:40 P.M.

The fact that no one was killed is a miracle given the attitude of the neighborhood to law enforcement THANK YOU OBAMA!

Of course, the focus of the Fake News Media remains on persuading the public to support gun bans as they ignore the fact that the shooter has a very long felony record and obtained his guns illegally.

Because easy to obtain legal guns very easily become easy to obtain illegal guns.....

Philly PD's bombing of the MOVE house took place twenty-three years before Obama's election -- so how can Obama be held responsible for the long-time lousy relations between Philly PD and Philly's black residents?

Isn't that one of the two positions taken by the Trumpers? First, blame Obama; second blame Hillary Clinton although neither are now president. And Trump refuses to take responsibility for anything...

The Philadelphia Police bombing was carried out by police using devices supplied by the FBI, I'm not sure the FBI knew what the police commander had in mind. As I recall the mayor ordered it to get rid of a radical and well armed a d organized group who had taken over the area,
Had nothing to do with any national political parties

They pretty much knocked down the whole block. Suffice to say that it didn't play too well on the nightly news.

The mayor who ordered the bombing was Wilson Goode, the first African-American to hold that office, the issues leading to the bombing went back 15 years,

                      MOVE, as I recall, weren't not exactly model neighbors . . . .

No, because illegals get their guns from illegal sources, or they steal them, or they buy them from cartels.

"Illegal" means just what it says. Outside of the law.

Yeah, mush better to let the locals riot and burn down half the city like they do in LA.

Good question. Who were the black community organizers back then?

It was the neighbors that complained to the police about MOVE's . . . . poor public behavior. Their complaint did not, however, constitute an invitation to burn down the entire block.
