  • Trump Blinks on Tariffs Against China

And Trump finally believes that his tariffs will hurt US consumers. We'll have to see how long that lasts and if he changes his mind...

'President Trump has repeated the same mantra for months: The Chinese are paying the full price of his tariffs. Itís a line that the overwhelming majority of economists and business owners say is false, but Trump kept saying it ó until Aug. 13.'

The idea of 'Trump the businessman' is a joke.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Socialism will always fail, you cannot bolster an economy by increasing the government's role in it. At least, not long term. It's just a matter of time until Trump's economic policy completely falls apart. Hopefully sooner rather than later so American businesses no longer have to bear this burden.

Are you now claiming that Trump's policy is socialism........ how in the world did you connect those dots?

Why do you want the US economic policy to fail? You probably don't realize this but it would hurt millions of Americans.

In another thread you mentioned about wanting to leave America......check out Costa Rico.

Label people with whom you disagree just like Trump. I am impressed with your originality.

However, the tariff game is a losing one:

            https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/mark...cid=spartandhp

            'President Donald Trumpís
            new tariffs
on Chinese agricultural products are likely to hurt a lot less than the retaliatory tariffs Beijing levies on the U.S.'

'The White House, while delaying tariffs on big-ticket consumer products until December, decided to push ahead with 10% tariffs on Chinese agricultural products as well as antiques, clothes, kitchenware and footwear from Sept. 1. The list ranges from the exotic -- live primates, whales and foxes -- to the more usual fare of milk and edible oils.'

'But the amount of farm products China exports to the U.S. is much smaller than what it imports from America, even with the retaliatory tariffs in place. China shipped $3.1 billion worth of farm goods to America in the first half of this year, while it purchased $5.6 billion of U.S. agricultural items over the same period, according to Chinese customs data.'
