'It's not an affliction you'll find in any medical textbook. A quick scan of the right-wing corners of the internet shows that the term is used to describe liberal outbursts throughout Trump's presidency.'

In short, it was invented by Trump's supporters to combat any criticism, logical or otherwise, of Trump. It is nonsense and rather stupid.

Says the patients trapped in their own asylum.
There are legit things to criticize and not like about Trump but when itís crying about every single thing heís done like fart in the elevator and doesnít admit it you got serious mental problems.

That is a perfect description for the claims that Trump is a racist, white supremacist..... and all the other claims that the MSM uses because they can't accept the fact that he is the President.

Just look at how many anti Trump threads are on this forum....many are discussing the same event yet somehow the poster feels that a new thread should be started.
"I don't discuss sitting presidents," Mattis tells NPR in an interview. "I believe that you owe a period of quiet."

Itís going to take at least a decade to settle down a bunch of psychiatric trauma cases before they can be remotely trusted to govern again.

Crying about every little single thing he's done? Who's doing that? Trump farted in an elevator?
Give us an example. What did Trump do that was OK and not something to be outraged over?

Many clinicians, political commentators, and members of the public have speculated upon the mental health of President Donald Trump. Indeed, over 70,000 people self-identifying as "mental health professionals" have signeda petition declaring that "Trump is mentally ill and must be removed." In sociological terms, the "medical gaze" has been hitherto focused on President Trump, and to a lesser extent his ardent supporters.

That's the "psychologic community", "psychiatric" community is something quite different.

Basically a psychologist may tell you you're suffering from TDS, a psychiatrist will (hopefully) tell you that's not a serious infliction and there are no pills to take for it.

He may recommend mild therapy to adress the symptoms though.

It pre-dates Trump though, so at least it should be re-named

Science has shown that the conservative brain has an exaggerated fear response when faced with stimuli that may be perceived as threatening. A 2008 study in the journal Science found that conservatives have a stronger physiological reaction to startling noises and graphic images compared to liberals.
While the conspiracy theory crowd ó who predominantly support Donald Trump and crackpot allies like Alex Jones and the shadowy QAnon ó may appear to just be an odd quirk of modern society, some of them may suffer from psychological illnesses that involve paranoia and delusions, such as schizophrenia, or are at least vulnerable to them, like those with schizotypy personalities.
While research showed that Republican voters in the U.S. scored higher than Democrats on measures of authoritarianism before Trump emerged on the political scene, a 2016 Politico survey found that high authoritarians greatly favored then-candidate Trump, which led to a correct prediction that he would win the election, despite the polls saying otherwise.

Note that this sort of subset of psychological analysis is it's own "field" even, pioneered in the 19th century :

Political psychology is an interdisciplinary field of inquiry concerned with the analysis of political thought and behavior of individuals within politically organized communities. Survey, experimental, and qualitative research examines political behavior at the individual and the collective level, in the general public and among political elites, and as formal and informal processes of political participation. Key topics in political psychology include political beliefs and values, cognitive processes in political decision making, political communication, media effects, political rhetoric, international conflict, racism and prejudice, ethnic identities, and collective action.

Nope-just general disgust at the invented 'concept' used to denigrate and not illuminate.

The use of it reminds me of the movie 'Miracle on 34th Street' and the pseudo-psychologist who liked to play at psychiatry, hurting people as he did so. He was a crank-just as the use of the term 'TDS' is fake and is used to hurt and denigrate people with whom one does not agree.

It is the default response of those in lockstep with Trump's lack of veracity.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
