  • Moscow Mitch

McConnell has refused to allow a bill that would at least attempt to thwart Russian interference in the 2020 election to go to the floor of the Senate.

He actually isn't faring too well overall:

'Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hasn’t just earned the epithet “Moscow Mitch” for refusing to bring election security bills up for a vote. His inaction has helped convince at least two House Democrats to back an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.'

Mitch McConnell is an idiot as well as a congressional obstructionist:

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4...ells-graveyard

'Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) unloaded on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday, accusing the Kentucky Republican of effectively turning the upper chamber into a legislative "graveyard."'

'The House Democratic leader at her weekly news conference unveiled a poster covered with headstones representing various bills and pieces of legislation that have become stalled in the Senate'

      Moscow Mitch-a serial obstructor:

      https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/06/polit...rol/index.html

'President Donald Trump didn't cite new gun legislation in his public remarks Monday, following the pair of deadly mass shootings over the weekend, and he won't have to worry about any such bills so long as Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the proud obstructionist of Capitol Hill, keeps them off the Senate floor.''
'McConnell has for months now been the plug halting nearly every piece of legislation Democrats pass through the House, including gun measures that enjoy bipartisan support.'

'But Democrats and gun control activists are hoping that this time, after shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, left scores dead, they will be able to succeed in passing some kind of new federal gun control measure into law for the first time in decades, and they're aiming to pressure McConnell in new and uncomfortable ways.'

'The Kentucky Republican is so well known for his obstruction of Democratic priorities that he's bragged about it.''"That's why I call myself the Grim Reaper," he said of Democrats during an appearance at a Kentucky political event over the weekend. "I'm killing their socialist agenda."'

Aside from the MSM talking heads, do you know why it wasn't allowed?

It hard to believe that there is anyone who has not realized at this point the whole Russian interference narrative was cover for how messed up the Democratic Party has become.

Where did you come up with that nonsense?

The 'Russian interference narrative' was found to be true and accurate by the US intelligence services and the Mueller investigation. Only Trump and his supporters deny that it happened.

Actually, the DNC, Face Book, & Google probably interfered with the elections more than the Russians.

The same intelligence agencies that came up with WMDs in Iraq, that the Shaw was in control in Iran, that thought the bay of pigs was a good idea, that ignored warnings of the Tet offensive, that failed to warn of the Yom Kippur war, that didn't notice the Russians getting ready to invade Afghanistan, that has no idea the Soviet Union was about to collapse, that has no idea India was going to test a nuclear weapon, and never examined the DNC server.

You have to be pretty naive to think the intelligence agencies are not driven by politics.

How can anyone believe anything that this political hack says:

Even in a city with a notoriously fluid notion of truth, Clapper's false testimony was a standout. Clapper appeared before the Senate to discuss surveillance programs in the midst of a controversy over warrantless surveillance of the American public. He was asked directly, "Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions, or hundreds of millions of Americans?" There was no ambiguity or confusion and Clapper responded, "No, sir.... Not wittingly." That was a lie and Clapper knew it when he said it.

He got one part right - he said "not wittingly" which certainly confirms that the whole show is run by a bunch of people who have lost their wits!

I would say that it's ignorant to believe that they are.

I would also say that they are driven by a sense of duty to the nation.

And that "duty to the nation" seems to span other agencies ...

An IRS staffer who leaked confidential details about former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's finances to Michael Avenatti, ex-lawyer for adult film star Stormy Daniels, pleaded guilty Wednesday to illegally accessing and distributing that information.

John C. Fry was an investigative analyst with the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, the law enforcement arm of the agency, in May 2018 when he twice logged on to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) database and downloaded five Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) — reports filed by banks when they note potentially suspicious transactions — related to Cohen and his company Essential Consultants.

In court Wednesday, Fry admitted giving Avenatti the information via cellphone and emailing him screenshots of the SARs. He pleaded guilty to one county of unauthorized disclosure of SARs.
