Over a hundred people packed the lobby of George Washington High School yesterday to view the mural set to be painted over by order of the San Francisco School Board.

Since the vote, there has been pushback about the decision. Now there's an effort to put a measure on the 2020 local ballot to preserve the mural and there's also a protest petition signed by more than 400 academics.

Bet the Left's response will be hair-on-fire ranting that those wanting to retain the mural are variously racists, homophobes, xenophobes, haters, etc. I would also bet that it's going to get vandalized if it isn't guarded 24/7.

The mural below at George Washington High School was painted in 1974...they're keeping these.

Nothing like seeing oppressed ancestors before you start your school day!

The mural was painted by a Russian to show the negative side of Washington.

Going to need to remove the newer one, too. It's blatantly racist and the standard has been set, by blacks themselves. Public racism is a no-no.

A reversal on the mural, sort of:

            https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/sf...cid=spartandhp

'The decision, in a 4-3 vote, means the mural depicting George Washington’s life would survive, but be obscured, at least semi-permanently, from public view.'

'The compromise was a disappointment to both sides in the debate, with critics saying the art was an outdated relic and preservationists saying the removal from public view is censorship. The tense meeting included yelling and hissing, as well as accusations of racism and ignorance.'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.
