2009, 2010, 2012 that I can specifically remember. 2010 was especially fun as it involved 500 people 'rioting' and GPD called in the Sheriff's Office and Highway Patrol to help get it under control. It was started by a Staff Sergeant from MARSOC. I was the one that called PMO to get his information since he refused to disclose any, got a lovely phone call from a Colonel (Deputy base commander) who was doing some fact finding in advance of the Article 32.

And definitely not the Jacksonville of the 80s. Of course, businesses around there change fast enough that even 10 years is enough. Let's see, when I was stationed there you had Tobys, Driftwood, La Mirage, the Cave, and I swear I've picked up my drunk Marines from another one but can't remember the name.

What was your point for bringing Jacksonville into the discussion?

Durham is a cesspool for specific reasons that are generally just applicable to Durham. Mostly because they love to fiddle while the city burns, sometimes literally.

Chapel Hell is what happens when you put too many educators, lawyers, and morons but I repeat myself, in the same place without any other adults to ground them.

Asheville.....they're lefty, but they're like the kooky hippie lefty that you can get along with so long as you don't steal their weed.

Charlotte....they've become rather militantly leftist, especially in relation to anything regarding LE. Note how it took the highway patrol sending in hundreds of troopers to quell the roadblock rioting they were having a couple of years ago. And how the city council is rather consistent in throwing their public servants under the bus in accordance with standard lefty protocol. I'd consider Charlotte to be just slightly better than Portland.

    I wondered about that.
So I guess we are supposed to be surprised that leftist politicians are behaving like leftist politicians?

What is a 'notorious leftist'? Have you been there? It's a clean city and appears to be well-run.

It will still come down to this most likely by the 2020 election:

    1. Is the economy doing good? If it is, as it is now, Trump has a big advantage.
    2. Who will his opponent be? Right now, that field isn't looking too good.
    3. Can the Democrats sell Socialism? I don't think this will fly with most Americans.

I don't think polling for the most part is a particularly good measure any more. This is particularly true if all you do is look at one or two of them that favor your position / candidate.

Where the Republicans, or Democrats, hold their convention will have little or no bearing on the election unless it is a debacle like the 68 Democrat convention in Chicago was with mass rioting outside it.

And it is still below 50%-in other words his 'support' is under water. He's never broken 50% and he is a minority president to boot.
