Until humans invent interstellar travel it will remain our greatest accomplishment since we harnessed fire. To walk on something that isnít earth is an incredible thing

What tthe scientists knew was that the moon surface was covered in dust. What they weren't sure about was how dense the dust layer and the actual depth of it was. Would the Lunar Module sink? Those were extremely brave men, as brave as any astronaut before and after them. They represent selfless great and proud achievement for all mankind.

Great achievement, but since those moon landings how many people have we sent out of earth orbit?

        Zero.

Weren't we suppose to have bases on the Moon (Mars, etc.) by now?

I was sort of expecting that when I joined the Marines I'd be an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper onboard a Battlestar.....

It's as if Columbus discovers America and Europe shrugs never bothering to go back again. That is what happened when the Vikings discovered America...
