  • Bernie Sanders Defends 'Democratic Socialism'

Sanders is not only wrong, he's nuts. What he is talking about does not exist in the American political system. The United States is not Europe.

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

“Let me define for you, simply and straightforwardly, what democratic socialism means to me,”
    Sanders said then
. "It builds on what Franklin Delano Roosevelt said when he fought for guaranteed economic rights for all Americans. And it builds on what Martin Luther King, Jr. said in 1968 when he stated that, 'This country has socialism for the rich, and rugged individualism for the poor.'
    From the OP link.

If that's a definition, then Sanders is a Martian.

    noun

the act of defining, or of making something definite, distinct, or clear: We need a better definition of her responsibilities.
the formal statement of the meaning or significance of a word, phrase, idiom, etc., as found in dictionaries. An online dictionary resource, such as Dictionary.com, can give users direct, immediate access to the definitions of a term, allowing them to compare definitions from various dictionaries and stay up to date with an ever-expanding vocabulary.
I don't se any of that in Sander's definition. I see two vague political quotes that are so generalized they can mean just about anything.

It would seem a vote for Sanders gets you a vote for a crazy, old, radical Leftist-- as opposed to Obama who was a crazy, relatively young, radical Leftist...
