  • Los Angeles Times asks for 'Immigrant Dump'

Trump has floated the idea of sending all the country's illegals to sanctuary cities. While this may seem to be calling liberal city government's on their bluff, the Los Angeles Times is replying in kind. They have asked Trump to send the CIty of Angels some of these illegals!

This looks like a match up between a popular blue city newspaper and the sitting POTUS extraordinaire. Who will win, the press or the pulpit? Will Trump send the illegals to L.A.? Will the Los Angelians want them?
President Trump affirmed he is considering releasing asylum-seeking migrants in so-called sanctuary cities and states. He see it as payback to his political opponents. Boy, is he mistaken.

If he dumped a significant number in LA, you'd hear about it loud and clear in the MSM. But, he'd have to send say 25 to 50,000 of them there to make a difference. The LA metro area is large enough to absorb thousands without notice.

Actually, you're the one who is mistaken. LA has the largest homeless population in the USA. City resources are strained to the breaking point, the power and water services are oprerating on the cusp of failure, and jobs and middle class are fleeing daily.

      Ditto for San Fran.

You seem confused about roles and terms: there is no 'pulpit' involved; the LA times does not have any legal voice in the matter, and in any case is not locally-owned.

What the POTUS is considering is the first dynamic shift in immigration policy in decades; should sanctuary cities take up the challenge, it will alter the makeup of illegal immigration i the USA.

Now, when a City Manager or Mayor calls for his or her city be used as a storage point of illegals, then you will have real news.

What you have now is just a private business posturing to increase sagging sales.

And they already have a huge number of them to begin with.

Donít leave San Diego out of the mix, There are cardboard cities hidden in the canyons, homeless sleeping on the beaches in the parks and now the city and the county have ordered the police and sheriffs to stop citing people for sleeping in cars parked in residential neighborhoods.
So now it is legal for people to live on the curb in front of your home.
          What could possibly go wrong?
pooping in your shrubs, bathing in your yard using your hose, panhandling while your children walk to school, leaving needles in the grass.....etc.

There are many in Cali that are trying to make all that legal...

Blah blah. How about we stay on topic. Whatís wrong with sending the illegals to blue cities? Both sides seem to be interested.

I agree! The Democrats should be applauding this... Except this is a case of the NIMBY syndrome taking over. Illegals are great as long as they aren't being put in a drop house next to Nancy Pelosi's mansion.

We are on topic. Pelosi and the DNC are outraged by the idea.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that 'both sides are interested', but you are sadly mistaken.

There wasn't enough space to list the blue cities teetering on the brink of bankruptcy and already burdened with homeless epidemics, so I just took two off the top. With 80,000 living on the streets, LA is #1 with a cheap nylon tent instead of a bullet.

Nancy Pelosi and other liberals donít seem to care. I think they hire illegals for menial services.

Both sides do seem interested. I wouldnít take Nancy Pelosis public statements as representative of everyone who somewhat sorta aligns with some Democrat objects somewhere.

With 100k coming per month, that is easily possible.

She's the Majority Leader of the House.

She is literally the face man for the DNC in 2019. Her public statements are the DNC's public position.

I don't think you grasp how political parties work in the USA.
