This is obvious. The only argument I would make is that it happens to be pandemic within the republican party. Doesn't mean that others aren't racist, simply that it's most common within that party. There are very few republicans who feel that the white and black race are equal.

Did you know that more democrats voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act than Republicans ?

Yes. I also know that today's republicans are entirely different than republicans of old.

I also know that republicans started the war on drugs in order to destroy black communities. According to Nixon's former aid, John Ehrlichman.

"You want to know what this was really all about?" he asked with the bluntness of a man who, after public disgrace and a stretch in federal prison, had little left to protect. "The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."

Republicans represent the lowest that American society has to offer. When you start to examine their true beliefs along with their complete lack of empathy for other humans there is simply no denying this.

Don't educate those that don't want to be educated.

Interesting that you overlooked the obvious, since Nixon left office there has been Carter, Clinton and Obama and none of them ended the “War on drugs”.
So they must be complacent in Nixon’s racist war on minorities.

They are, yes. But, I also think the issue now are the optics. How many people are aware of the reason why the war on drugs started. How many people know that blacks are arrested at a higher rate for marijuana despite both races using it fairly equally. So do you have enough democrats who are educated enough to support ending it. Knowing you won't have republican support because they want the government to be authoritarian and don't care how this has impacted blacks.

Actually, Clinton's Anti-Crime bill has empowered the police and increased both numbers and duration of sentencing the most. What a lot of people mistake for the Patriot Act is actually Clinton's work.

While the phrase 'war on drug' was coined (pointlessly, I might add) in the 80s by politicians, the accelerated program of anti-drug enforcement was codified in 1967, under LBJ. Every POTUS since then has sponsored anti-narcotics bills, Clinton having the highest score in that regard.

You can be white and generally not have to worry about it, which is where the main issue is. As I said, republicans want the government to regulate everything, down to what we put in our body. So the notion that a democrat could simply end the war on drugs, would be ignoring the huge battle that would take to do so.

More to the original point. Modern day republican policy has a history of targeting blacks and trying to destroy black people. The war on drugs is just one example of that.

How so? Because of confirmation bias and you feel one black cancels out the opinion of 90% of the community?

Well, the article itself is pretty much biased crap.

They quote the Stupid Pathetic Liars Cabal (SPLC aka Southern Poverty Law Center) who has been proven repeatedly to be horribly biased to the Left and even makes many of their findings up which has cost them big in losing lawsuits by those they've slandered.

                                They also have this:
Last week, FBI Director Christopher Wray called white supremacist violence "a persistent, pervasive threat" during testimony before the House Appropriations Committee.
Persistent? Yes, definitely. Pervasive? No. For something to be pervasive it has to be widespread. White supremacist violence isn't widespread, it occurs in isolated instances usually by single individuals.

The Democrat response to Owens' statements were a combination of vague generalities and ad hominems.

Some of what Owens said is just wrong. Other parts she got more or less correct.
