  • Democrats what 2020 candidates do you like?

For the Democrats on the forum which of the 2020 candidates do you like? Include those who haven't entered but are likely to.

The great thing is you have plenty of choices!

    You have Governor Hickenlooper mania.

Need more excitement? There is Senator Elizabeth Warren!

Nostalgic for the Obama era? Bring back Vice President Biden!

    Representative "Beto" O'Rourke, he's Kennedyesque.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, she replaced Hillary Clinton as Senator for N.Y. and ........

Like your socialism well aged ? Senator Sanders he's your man!

I'd have to go with Representative Tulsi Gabbard. We would have our first president who looks great in a body suit surfing!

    But wait.......... there's more!!!

Try and keep it classy, so this thread doesn't get locked down for hate and discontent.

Are there any in the field that aren't pushing Progressive ideas like more government, more taxes, "Green" stuff, "free" stuff, and the like?

I wonder how an old style blue dog Democrat would do with the far left vote being split 15 ways?

Are you kidding? He's a mental case. The guy wrote poetry about running over kids with his car, and mocked his own wife when he lost his election bid in Texas.

But as to whom I like: any who lose.

          .
Who are we to judge? "THEY" say he's Kennedyesque!!

This thread is divisive. As a registered Republican, I'll step in for the sake of national unity.

None of them have a shot against Trump. Biden might exchange some blows if he grows some balls, but he doesn't care.

            "Beta" O'Rourke doesn't have a shot.

            Elizabeth Warren shot her bolt.

I guess Gillibrand and Gabbard are new and women. That's always exiting: maybe they will be the first woman president!
But a quick Google search isn't promising.

I don't know why Democrats aren't pumped for Bernie; I thought they liked him. I guess he's thrown to the wolves to cover up Hillary Corruption.

Maybe Hillary will run again; I know some people who might vote for her .

I almost forgot about Hickenlooper. His high school plays my high school in sports. He's ok in my book, but we'll see if he comes out swinging with liberal "policies." He's a swampster too. Kim Jung-Un, anyone?

              Teddy Kennedy.

And he's a politician: every voter has to judge.

And in Beto's case, hopefully a jury, too. The guy is nuts.

                e?
This thread need not be divisive.

I am hoping for a civil discussion, if somewhat humorous and light hearted. That may be a tall order for some of our members. I wish rather than locking down threads the mods would remove the problem posts and let the discussions go on.

I know we don't have a lot of Democrats here. But I am curious what their thoughts are on the current bunch of candidates.

Many of the older people I know (70+) are old school union Democrats. I wonder how on board they are with some of the more left wing elements of the party. I would thonk a centrist Democrat would stand out in this field while the left wing battles it out.

I'm still waiting for our more Democrat minded posters to reply to my question and tell me which of their candidates fits it. Because right now, the Democrats are looking at a big goose egg from me.

I'm a Democrat, but what's the point? I'm not yet particularly warm and fuzzy with any of them.

O'Rourke just did a quick swing through these parts. The local news (WMUR Ch 9) covered his every move here in the Granite State. I couldn't quite see the appeal. He sort of reminds me of a male Lizzie Warren... a lot of hysteria and hand swinging. As to being characterized as "Kennedy-esque", let us all please remember the immortal words of the late Senator Ted Kennedy....
