  • Jordan, Meadows ask DOJ to investigate Michael Cohen for perjury

Politically driven....no doubt as were the democrats for being stupid enough to bring a convicted liar back to testify....

Two of President Trump’s top Republican allies on Capitol Hill are asking the Justice Department to investigate Michael Cohen for perjury, accusing the onetime Trump attorney of making intentional false statements during his public testimony this week.

“Mr. Cohen’s testimony before the Committee on Oversight and Reform … was a spectacular and brazen attempt to knowing and willfully testify falsely and fictitiously to numerous material facts,” Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) wrote in a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr on Thursday. “His testimony included intentionally false statements designed to make himself look better on a national stage.”

In a six-page letter with more than 20 pages of exhibits, Jordan and Meadows suggested that Cohen made deliberate false statements over the course of his nearly seven hours of testimony before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

Some of his answers to lawmakers, they asserted, contradicted court filings made by federal prosecutors in Manhattan. Others were “immediately contradicted by witnesses with firsthand knowledge of the subject matter,” they wrote.

Cohen attorney and spokesman Lanny Davis accused Meadows and Jordan of misusing "the criminal justice system with the aura of pure partisanship.”

If he was dumb enough to lie again he deserves what he gets.

On the other hand these to idiots should of made quiet inquires first. To avoid getting egg on there faces.

If they are also doing this in regards to Cohen what about the Lies Trump has told.

What I really like is how the NYT's front page has at the top "Trump-Kim Summit Collapses See page 9" (emphasis mine).

Page friggin' 9! The irrelevant testimony of Cohen dominates the front page. Tells you where the NYT's priorities are and that they are so fouled up...

                  This action
is going to backfire. The GOP is just posturing
, of course but when the DOJ
                  fails to prosecute, it
's going to send a message it didn't lie.

Honestly, I don't know if he did or didn't, but it
's going to give his words a lot of weight if he's not prosecuted.

GOP spent too much time trying to undermine his credibility, and no time defending the president.
Conservatives in the U.S. won't be happy until Jim Crow returns and "White Heterosexual Only" signs are legalized.

How is it going to backfire? Even CNN is pointing out that Cohen lied again under oath.

Check out the CNN video from.10 November 2016 with Cuomo and Cohen. Then look at Cohen's testimony from this week. There is nondoubt that he lied again.

Cohen admitted that in the past he lied to Congress, but he is saying : what I am telling now is the truth .
If he lied in the past, why should one believe him now ?
And, if he said the truth in the past, he is now lying .
And the fact that the Democrats are now using someone who admitted that he lied in the past, proves that the Democrats like liars, because they are also liars .
Birds of a feather flock together .

Yep, me too. The fanatics of the 'Freedom Caucus' are getting old. Jordan is their attack dog as was quite obvious in the hearing the other day.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

ahh when your a govt official providing false statements in certain circumstances can get you in trouble even when not under oath.

btw why be so hard on a guy who lied to protect Trump. Suppose what he is saying is True.

From his first set of lies who benifited. Why lie then if you were Cohen.
