Pelosi agrees that Trump did the right thing:

"What we want is denuclearization," Pelosi said at her weekly news conference, referring to the US goal of getting North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons. "They didn't agree to it in the first meeting. They didn't agree to it in the second meeting. They wanted lifting sanctions without denuclearization. I'm glad that the President walked away from that."

      And...?
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Massena, how many homicidal dictators have you talked into ceasing nuclear testing? Trump has one: Kim Jung Un. If you beat his record, then you owe it to your country to assist the negotiation process.

That is not only shameful, but a betrayal of the Warmbier family.

Why does Trump always believe dictators, autocrats, and murderers instead of his own people?
This is also another mess of Obama's that Trump had to clean up.

Otto's family doesn't hold Trump responsible, why should you or anyone else? The Warmbier family is the only ones who have the right to say anything. They haven't, have they?

Every American has the right to say their piece when an American is murdered in a foreign country. Trump's 'championing' of Kim is just as bad as his similar attitude towards Putin in Helsinki last year. Kim is a murdering little wart who has gained immense prestige by having an American president travel half way around the world to meet him. And then Trump gives an excuse that Kim knew nothing of Warmbier's murder because Kim said so. That is inane.

Did you ever consider that the North Koreans had 'perfected' their missiles with their testing and weren't talked out of anything? Almost forgot, the new party line is that we believe whatever Kim tells us as Trump is now doing for his buddy...

                        North Korea perfected their missiles?

I guess we need to get their technology....after all these decades we are still testing our missiles.

A year or so ago all the left wing talking heads were screaming that WWIII was upon us, Trump would start a war with NK
                          they are so disappointed,
Trump was going to crash the economy,
                          They are so disappointed.
First he was wrong to go negotiate with NK, now he’s wrong because he didn’t make a deal.
It doesn’t matter what the facts are, his critics are unhinged.

His Trump hatred is so deeply pathological that when even Pelosi agrees it will take him awhile to process this.

Some people hate Trump so much that it supersedes everything else in life.

Sometimes I wonder if part of the problem with Trump critics is a complete lack of understanding in how diplomacy and dealing works.

First, words are formalities in eastern culture and what we would call butt kissing they would call politeness. From Afganistan to Japan you could be negotiating with someone who hates the ground you walk on and they'll be just as pleasant as can be and they expect the same courtesy in return. None of it's genuine. They could go back to plotting your death the moment you leave the room. But everyone is polite for the cameras. And western business dealing isn't much different. Words mean little compared to results here as well. A businessman could smile to a sworn enemy. The only difference is he could also call his friend an @$$hole because over here bombast has negotiating cred too and the insult would be nothing personal. But the bottom line is that if you take either Kim or Trump's words at face value you're being a sucker. For both parties it's all a dance toward an end game. The words are just words. If Trump appears to be kissing ass, he's playing cards, not expressing genuine sentiment.

If you wear your feelings and intentions on your sleeve, you won't even win a game of Diplomacy.

To be clear, I respect Messena outside of this forum. He is an honorable man, I know this from my artillery buddies one of which is a Colonel another one was a Master Gunnery Sergeant. They both speak highly of Kevin. Then again they are only gun bunnies....

I also have a Tanker buddy on Facebook that is a retired LtCol with the same thought patterns as Messena.

I don't know what drives them behind posting as they do but I do know in real life they are honorable men.

The are schooled in diplomacy as is my daughter that was part of the hosting party with the president of the Ukraine two days ago on her ship.

                                Now back to rebutting Messena...
