  • The New Tax Law May Not Be Taxpayer Friendly

Many taxpayers may be paying more in taxes under the new law:

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Did Trump benefit? How will we verify until he shows his tax returns?

What tax law is ever friendly? If I have to pay, it is not friendly.

Last year I owed. This year I got a refund. Not so bad at this point.
Matthew 25:14-30. Jesus tells that it is not sufficient merely to maintain things as they are. Those who await should make good use of the gifts that God has provided them.

I've always gotten a refund. I'll wait until after I file to see what goes.

For all its imperfections, the Federal Tax Code hasn't been bad to me. We use a CPA to find us enough exceptions to keep it bearable.

I just checked our withholdings and the government changed them without us doing anything. That's why there was more money per month in paychecks and why some people will have to pay. The change in withholding for us was significant so we'll probably have to pay additional taxes this year after getting money back last year.

What a great tax law. It's nothing but smoking mirrors, typical of Trump.
