In 2034, from a story posted in the sci fi section. A prediction on the future of the US under a Socialist policy should the radical Democrats gain total control.

It is an interesting trip through the ruined high rise apartments and parkland. “These people must have abandoned their self driving automobiles in favor of public transport,” Major Powell tells the others. “I have seen articles on the web how Denver was going Green with all private transport being banned and replaced by bicycles, electric buses, self driving delivery vans, and an underground conveyor system linking every apartment to a distribution warehouse.”

“Prior to the zombie invasion, the city had just installed that robotic conveyor delivery system to every apartment complex. Most everything that someone needed would be ordered from a central warehouse. It was then packed by robots in a tote and routed to a dumbwaiter in the apartment where the occupant would unpack it, repack it with their trash, and send it back to the warehouse for recycling, cleaning, and reuse. Larger items, such as furniture, would be delivered by self driving driving delivery vans and robots. Nobody needed to leave their apartment if they didn’t want to. Most people didn’t. They could work, eat, exercise, and be entertained in there. Mostly, the residents of Denver, which by then had been renamed Sanctuary City due to over a million additional undocumented immigrants being housed in the new high rise apartments, got their exercise by walking or biking along the elevated walkways connecting the apartments and numerous green zones in the city.”

“Who was paying for all of that expensive construction and housing of all of those newcomers?” ask Captain Powell.

“Everyone that still had a job, ran a business, or owned property,” answered Major Powell. “With a National Debt that soon exploded to over $50 trillion and out of control inflation, the Progressive Socialist open border policy was bankrupting the Government. The rest of the Western World was in even worse shape with the UK having gone bankrupt. Greece and France, which had nationalized all property and savings in order to prevent bankruptcy, was already dealing with a Muslim civil war that had killed hundreds of thousands. The Zombie Plague was the only thing that ended what would have soon been a world wide economic collapse into chaos. We were facing Armageddon in one form or another.”

Definitely "fiction", that's for sure. The Democrats in Denver can't even keep the streets repaired, let alone create a utopia out of the slums and barrios.

She's one person with little to no power. Democrats just like republicans are pro-establishment and will do everything they can to silence those who are anything but. The status quo is not at risk.

One thing this will guarantee is that the US economy will tank and tank badly as a result. With the price of natural gas where it is right now, it'd be cheaper for me to run a generator off-grid to power my house 24/7 than pay $ .25 a KWH for "green" energy.
Given that "green" energy is above that level in every nation that has heavily invested in solar and wind (to include Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia) I see the economy here tanking as a result of this Democrat stupidity.

Let me go over just how demonstrably idiotic their "green" energy plan is with some numbers from Arizona. I did this to help defeat Prop 127 here, a plan to move Arizona to 50% solar in the next 10 years.

Ivanpah solar in California is the largest solar plant in the US currently. It has a name plate capacity of 400 MW, takes up 4,000 acres of land, and has rated 20.5% capacity factor. It currently produces about 940 GW per year. It cost $2.5 Billion in 2016 dollars.

Palo Verde Nuclear in Arizona is the largest nuclear plant in the US. It has a name plate of 4000 MW and takes up 4,000 acres of land. It has a rated capacity factor of 94%. It currently produces 32,300 GW a year. It cost $11.5 billion in 2016 dollars.

This means that Palo Verde over a year is 34 times more efficient than Ivanpah. For solar to replace Palo Verde you need at a minimum 34 Ivanpah's. That means you have to spend 7.4 times more money (about $ 84 billion) to build solar plants to match Palo Verde. The footprint of these solar plants would cover 212.5 square miles or an area approximately 15 miles x 15 miles. That's the area of a sizable urban area or city.

Their plan is not only unrealistic, it is insanely close to impossible to achieve.

Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal offers 'economic security' for those 'unwilling to work'

Matthew 25:14-30. Jesus tells that it is not sufficient merely to maintain things as they are. Those who await should make good use of the gifts that God has provided them.

I have a good science fiction story.

The year is 2300; fossil fuels are still the primary source of energy and will never run out, the population of the planet is 23 billion but that is fine, we still use plastic to package most things because why the **** not, the polar ice caps are gone but nobody seems to notice, agriculture is still dependent on petrochemicals which are plentiful and never going to run out, when Jesus came back he didn't care about where all the tigers, elephants and wales had gone and the oceans are acidic death ponds but when did we never need the ocean?.........

Ah, but the answer to everything is Socialism, don't you know?

This Idiot actually says that the cost doesn't matter because we can just print more money.

Yeah, that worked great for Zimbabwe, the Weimar Republic, and dozens of others. This is the result of 50 years of Marxists running the Govt-controlled Education industry.

And it's what we did to pay for Viet Nam.

We're rapidly reaching the point where this particular discussion is moot, given the rapidity with which the Dems are driving us into their version of socialism, already well entrenched.
