  • The Republican Party is Becoming the Party of Hate

Steve King needs to be both censured and expelled from the House of Representatives:

At least one Republican senator has the moral courage to speak out against Steve King.

Every party has associations with idiots that some of their members will give a pass to.

      "I'm not an anti-Semite. I'm anti-Termite." Louis Farrakhan

Nobody should be surprised that the authoritarian right leans Republican. It's no more surprising that the the authoritarian left leans Democrat. It also should not be surprising that the identity politics of the left is being meet with an equal and opposite authoritarian right response. As the Republican party becomes more libertarian it is effectively weakening it's attraction to the authoritarian right by embracing traditional values of liberal democracy. In the short run that may increase the alienation that the far right feels making them more vocal.

Identity politics is exasperbating a long standing problem in which large segments of the population feel alienated. There is no doubt that racism is alive and well in American culture the question is what to do about it. As the above story illustrates it is best to simply let racists have a platform in which they can discredit themselves. You are not going to solve the problem by pushing it underground or censoring speech.

For many people who embrace traditional liberal values the radical left which has a voice in the media and entertainment industry feel that the radical left is a more existential problem. My attempts to quantify the issue by determining the demographics of the two positions has not been fruitful. How many far right individuals there actually are is hard to say. The adoption by the popular culture of the idea of covert racism that works subliminally and justifies calling everyone right of Mao a racist is not helpful. That is not to say covert racism does not exist but that by exaggerating it the animus associated with racism is undermined.

Might as well call this quiz the "How Republican are you?" If you get a low score, you are probably a foaming-at-the-mouth Leftist Democrat.

So, the haters on the Left, and the Democrat party can whine and point fingers all they want, but they need to get the beam out of their own eye before pointing out the mote in anyone else's.

It was the same Cristina Marcos, who on the Democratic Hill, was boasting about the increasing power of the Democratic Black Cauacus. Thus, why should a White Caucus be wrong ?

Every time the Democrats are crashing and burning, Kevin rolls out a thread like this one.
                Soooo predictable, he is.

Louis Farrakhan wasn't elected to the house of representatives, King was. Big difference. The democrats aren't choosing their idiots to represent them, while republicans are.

No, but the likes of Maxine Waters, Keith Ellison, even Barack Obama are all racists. There's plenty more where they came from too. Even newly elected Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez or London Lamar are bigots of the worst kind.

Lamar has commented that the whole state of Tennessee is racist, further refining that by saying she means the White part, and that Republicans from that state are uneducated idiots, that White people are stupid, and a whole litany of other out and out racist insults. She of course, later apologized when called on this. But, you'll note the apology was neither sincere nor self-motivated. The MSM has all but ignored her comments, but by god, they're going after King for his...

An ironic thread title given the insane litany of hatred displayed by the OP these recent years.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

What's more ironic is he hasn't stepped up and called for the expulsion of Democrats who do the same thing, even after I pointed out one egregious case that's far, far more racist and bigoted than King's comments.

White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization how did that language become offensive? he asked in the Times interview.

An odd thing to say by Mr King. Those terms in bold above are all modern inventions that the great scholars never spoke of during the middle ages. Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians make up most of humanity, they come from the east and west. Civilization comes from around the world, no need to say something like "Western civilization" Same with fake invented terms such as Islamist , Muslim Supremacist or Christian Supremacist. These terms are offensive, they offend all of our ancestor as well as history.

How King would say White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization how did that language become offensive? is almost like a red flag. Not that King is racist, but King might be working for others to make white people like bad. Or King is just so far out of touch he goes on and says things that make no sense that could also be it.

I don't know the context there, but it sounds like she's wrong. Unless there's something she has left out, you cannot call someone racist based on what she presented. Either way, you're right it is hypocritical. As I said before the left needs to stop playing nice and with that stop asking for it in return.
