  • House Approves Border Wall - Bill back to Senate - Will Chucky cause Govt Shutdown?

WASHINGTON Ė A deeply divided House voted on Thursday to add $5 billion in border wall funding to a short-term spending bill, yielding to President Donald Trumpís demand for the money but casting further doubts upon the fate of efforts to avert a government shutdown.

The bill, which the House approved by a vote of 217-185, now heads back to the Senate, which must either approve the measure or risk shutting down a quarter of the government at midnight Friday. A Senate vote is expected Friday afternoon.

But, if Schumer forces a party line vote in the Senate over this and the bill fails in the Senate, then Schumer and the Democrats take the hit.

The bill requires 60 votes to pass.

If there is a government shutdown, it will be because Trump changed his mind on the spending bill. And he said that he would be 'proud' to cause a shutdown at the Oval Office meeting a couple of weeks ago...

Not according to Donald. Trump is taking the blame for the shutdown, that's what he said. He added "and I won't blame you either."

Therein lies the rub. The DNC is not in a good position. Block it, and the GOP will flog them for the next two years with every murder by an illegal, which is a daily event. Let it through, and Trump gets his wall.

Republicans control the House, Senate and the Presidency. No one is fooled by the "Democrats are to blame" line...

                    That's not responsible leadership.

For instance, confederate General Robert E Lee was a Democrat

You are. It takes 60 votes in the Senate to avoid a filibuster on the bill. If something like 10 Democrats won't vote for it, then it dies in the senate due to the Democrats.

Which makes it a Democrat shut-down.

                        Boom, there it is.

Meanwhile, the fiction of 5 billion being a lot of money in D.C. is over with, they also approved twice as much money for "economic relief aid" for Central America.... so if they are willing to fork over 10.6 billion so that corrupt bureaucrats south of the border can have more swimming pools.

Meanwhile, building the wall has 70% approval among the American People.
                        The people.

Time for little Chuckie Schumer to admit that he doesn't have what it takes to be one of the Sopranos and go along with this one, or go down as the next Hillary.

No, Trump changed his mind on the subject after listening to his little buddies at Fox News and other right wing idiots got angry with him. If there is a shutdown, and it certainly looks like there will be, then it is in Trump's court.

How do you figure that? The House passed a bipartisan bill that included wall funding. The Senate has to vote on it. If the Democrats won't go along it dies in the Senate. It is only if the Democrats in the Senate vote to support the bill and it goes to the President for signature that "it is in Trump's court," except for those suffering TDS who will blame Trump for the weather as much as for this bill.
