  • Insulting the Armed Forces

For someone who says he supports the armed forces, the level of insult, ignorance and neglect is rising. Supporting the armed forces is not just about money...

He also did not go to Arlington last Monday because he was 'too busy.' Further, he has not visited troops committed to combat zones, unlike his predecessors. Our most gun-shy coward-in-chief is undoubtedly 'allergic' to combat areas. He also has not been to the Mexican border to visit the troops he sent there. It is time to bring them to their home bases. That was nothing but a political stunt.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Reasons why Trump won't visit troops in a combat zone: the one that stands out? He's scared...

Read the article-it's more than Maddow.

From the article and the Washington Post:

'Trump has spoken privately about his fears over risks to his own life, according to a former senior White House official, who has discussed the issue with the president and spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak candidly about Trump’s concerns.'

“'He’s never been interested in going,” the official said of Trump visiting troops in a combat zone, citing conversations with the president. “He’s afraid of those situations. He’s afraid people want to kill him.'”

The same thing was reported today on CNN.

The use of unnamed sources is an accepted form of getting information. Your prejudice against recognized news organizations who do their best to report what's happening is appalling. If you don't agree with it, then post something that disproves it. If you can't do that then you're merely aping Trump with his temper tantrums against the media. And that is stupid as well as irresponsible.

OKay, forget WAPO etc. Why hasn't our military loving CiC been able to visit our troops ONCE? Why couldn't he make it to Arlington?

IF that is the case then he best get out of the US, for good.

How is that any different than reporting on prior presidents?

The Washington Post has already reported on it and unless you can counter the report, that's what you have to go on.

We can't though, he doesn't like answering the tough questions.

                            Just ask Acosta.

No, it's not. I can simply dismiss the WaPo report as either inaccurate or a fabrication due to lack of a reasonable source. An unnamed "official" in the White House is not, in my view, a reliable source from an unreliable news outlet when it comes to Trump. So, the WaPo story is meaningless in my view unless it can be confirmed by other sources that are more reliable and have additional information.
