  • This could happen in America

If the Democratic policies were still the status quo eventually we would have to deal with this.

Mexico is a christian capitalistic nation. There is no middle class in Mexico. The United States is going in the direction of your post. Because capitalistic policies are eliminating the middle class in the US. Why would someone in the middle class support capitalism? It's rare to find a capitalist in the middle class. Capitalists are the very wealthy people in the nation. Sucking up all the money, eliminating the middle class in the process.

Which of course, by design, is the very nature of capitalism.

I disagree with extreme prejudice. My construction company is doing fine under American Capitalist System. It depends on what you are doing for employment in the middle class.

Thanks to the drug cartels Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries on the planet now. There's no way in Hell I'd go over the border for squat these days. Used to be nice to go to Mexico to the beach, or for shopping. Not any more. Even the border towns are unsafe. Besides, now you need a damn passport to get back.

No, Mexico is a Catholic Socialist nation. There is a small middle class in Mexico-- Go to any resort hotel in Arizona and you meet them on vacation. Socialism eliminates the middle class, not Capitalism. Socialism allows those in positions of wealth and established larger business to collude with government to establish barriers into entry into business and for small businesses to thrive.
The biggest part of the middle class in Mexico are those willing to take risks and operate in the black market these days (eg., those that illegally practice Capitalism).

This is why Socialism, among other reasons such as a poorly planned economy, destroys the middle class.

Capitalists don't "...suck up all the money." They may accumulate considerable fortunes, but others are free to innovate and go into business themselves. With Socialism, big companies, corporations, and the government collude to prevent new entries into the market and stifle innovation. What's rare is a middle class in a Socialist state.

That is why Mexico is such a fail compared to the US and Canada. They've had over a century of heavy handed Socialism under governments run by the corrupt PRI (Institutionalized Revolutionary Party) party.

TAG shows once again he doesn't know shinola. People who refuse to learn are????????????????????? Dense.
Many countries in Western Europe have significantly larger middle classes than the U.S.

The share of the adult population that lives in middle-income households varies considerably across Western Europe and the U.S. In 2010, the latest year for which data are available for all countries, the middle-income share was near 80% in Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway, the highest three among the countries examined, and as low as 59% in the U.S. Among the eight countries with data for 2013, the middle-income share ranged from 58% in the U.S. to 79% in Norway.

The size of the middle class across the selected Western European nations is related to the countries’ overall standards of living. The countries fall into three groups based on their national median disposable incomes in 2010. National incomes and the middle-income shares were the lowest in Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK (64% to 69%); higher in Finland, France and Germany (72% to 75%); and higher still in Denmark, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Norway (75% to 80%).

For the past 15 years, if you vacation in Cancun, you were warned not to leave the city limits or walk on the beach after dark. That resort town is guarded by armed private guards to protect the tourist. Still, each year it gets worse due to the corruption and drug cartels that control the countryside. This report comes from friends and close relatives that have vacationed there.

Tourism is big business there. Even though the people in that business are doing everything that they can to protect it, it still can be dangerous to go there.
