So what? Some people are just stupid. There are, however, deaths because of Florence and it wasn't a lot of fun being in the middle of it either.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

          Fiction doesn't write itself...
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

But of course it is, and it's not the first time that I have seen on the scene reporters overacting during natural disasters, it's done all the time.

Twitter isn't "news" - never was, never will be.
Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes? Who is watching the watchers?

Unless you believe the video is fake it is news. For the first time in history people have the opportunity to see the news unfiltered. It's a big deal.

Unfortunately technology has also made it possible to fake almost anything but don't throw the baby out with the bath water. New technology always presents challenges. The need to solve the fake news problem is real but I don't trust anyone at the moment.

Remember that when the Tweeter-in-Chief uses it and helps to denigrate the presidency.

What about the female reporter in a inflatable life craft that may or may not even have enough water under to get it afloat?

The Weather Channel subscribes to "if it bleeds, it leads," aspect of weather reporting in order to attract viewers. In fact, it is getting so bad that the " Mindless Sheep" out there will soon believe that the reporter can part the waters like Moses, or summons up tornadoes via the Unreal 4 Gaming Engine. Who knows, They may start riding on raptors as they harp about Global Warming, Climate Change, or Blaming trump for it all.
