We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Can't understand not wanting to be there at the end.

We had the vet come to our home to make it more comfortable for her.

Every pet I've ever had to do this to has had me right there with them. I bring favorite treats and make sure they are looking at me when they pass.

We had one vet that wouldn't let us be in the room...she is no longer our vet. We want to be there so they are comforted in their last moments.

Ours always kept their eyes on us. It's the saddest thing...

Perhaps the most important question one must ask one's self prior to getting a dog or cat is whether or not one can handle the final moments. Not everyone can.

If the answer is no, don't get the pet.
