  • Nothing like a Socialist to kill successful businesses

Bernie Sanders' latest Socialist proposal is to tax large corporations (500 + employees) for the full cost of all government handouts their employees receive.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/comp...cid=spartanntp

So, if such a company has employees on food stamps the company would have to pay additional taxes to cover that cost in full... That is in addition to the taxes they already pay to cover part of that cost. In other words, they'd get taxed at like say 120% of the cost of the food stamps in effect. Of course, at this point Sanders' proposal doesn't have a mechanism to handle part time, seasonal, and other workers including those that might have two or more part time jobs...

But, that never stops a good Socialist from killing and eating the Golden Goose...

That senile old slacker just doesn't get that in a global economy, there will always be other nations willing and eager to accept the jobs killed by ideas like this.

At best this means that corporations would fragment on paper so that none have more than 490 employees.

Thank goodness the GOP holds Congress.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

Oh, it's worse than that... Amazon hires a lot of people part time. Many of these work part time deliberately so they can get food stamps and welfare because they don't make enough money (supposedly). What they're doing is avoiding working too much so they'll qualify for government assistance and get maxed on things like the Earned Income Credit. That is, they're deliberately no working full time because they get more money and benefits being under-employed.

So, Amazon gets hit to pay their full welfare cost. What does Amazon do? Fire more part timers and hire full time employees that aren't eligible for government handouts. The part timers also quit or want reduced hours to avoid getting paid too much, so that's a problem going the other direction.

Of course, Amazon also ups automation at the same time.

Bernie probably thinks workers actually believe that Marxist crap about contributing what you can willingly. Truth is, they look out for themselves and make the best deal for the least work in many cases.

The concept seems to be on the right path. The details can be argued along the road. Western companies employ low-level workers with higher minimum wages and more health benefits. If they can be competitive, then the big US companies can also find a way to remain competitive after such tax.
My most dangerous mission: I landed in the middle of an enemy tank battalion and I immediately, started spraying bullets killing everybody around me having fun up until my computer froze...

Pay them a livable wage, which isn't the minimum wage and the problem is over.

Replace them with a machine that does the job better, and the problem is over, cheaper. Progressives just don't get it when it comes to economics.

So, you really think it's okay to tax a company at some corporate tax rate to finance the government-- including all the social welfare stuff-- then tax a big corporation simply on the basis of it's employee count at 100% for any and all social welfare expenses those employees use simply because you think:

              A. The corporation makes piles of profits that it doesn't deserve and can be redistributed, even if the company doesn't make much profit.
              B. That the employee's using social welfare are doing so only because the corporation doesn't pay them enough not to.
              C. That the corporation won't change its business model to get around the tax rather than simply increase employee wages.

As usual, the myopic self-assured omniscience of the Left will prove a massive fail when implemented.

Then what happens to the low wage worker replaced by a machine?

As far as progressives and the GOP. Check on the growth of the US economy under each one. Who had the greats growth in debt. While your at it, check on which party had the mos indictment, found guilty and jail sentence.

The corporation doesn't particularly care. Obviously the Left implementing a policy that made the machine more desirable was simply killing people with kindness instead of really taking care of them. That's been a hallmark of the Left for over a century.

And unless they can find another job, unemployment increases. Is that what you want. Sanders is an idiot, but then so is Trump with his tariffs. Trump has no grasp at all of economics or trade.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

It's what idiots like Sanders would force... note that force... on us in the name of "Fair and equal" and for the Socialist goal of wealth redistribution. And, yes, Socialism usually produces more unemployment...

As for your TDS, I think you need to consult a doctor because it's getting worse...

Amazon and outfits like WalMart like it that way, too, because they don't have to provide costly employee benefits like health care to part-time employees. There are many sides to the economic equation with the taxpayer/consumer always on the wrong side.
