The Democrats in the 90ís were able to change their party colour affiliation from Red to Blue because they didnít want to be known as Reds anymore because of the negativity that comes with it.
Considering how far to the left the Democrats are becoming they might soon demand to be known as the Reds again since most favour Socialism over Capitalism.

The best thing that could happen for US politics is for the two parties to break up. Their monopoly has reached its zenith...

Others would organize to take their place.

I think come November the Democrats will be surprised by their poor showing. They may still make gains in Congress, but it won't be the blow out that they're expecting. Why? Because the Democrats on the whole have lurched badly Left. They have a number of Democrat Socialist Party members running as Democrats. Some of their candidates are openly advocating for Socialism.

It seems they're ignoring history. Socialism hasn't worked, and heavy handed doses of Socialism in particular have been disastrous. While they might get a pass in San Francisco or New York City, this sort of platform isn't going to fly in Kansas City.

Here in Arizona there is only one really moderate Democrat on the ballot in a major race. That's Krysten Sinema running for senate. The Democrats are worried she won't win and are dumping millions into a campaign to discredit one of her Republican opponents, Martha McSally who is likely to beat her, while running adds supporting the other Kelly Ward, who more moderate voters generally see as a nut job. This is the Democrats. They're campaigning for Republicans because they can't support their candidate openly. Sinema knows that too. She never mentions she's a Democrat in campaign ads. It's as if she's ashamed of her party affiliation.

In the governor's race we have a out and out Leftist nut, David Garcia, running for governor as a Democrat. He's celebrated by that party as visionary and such. He wants to abolish ICE, advocates open borders, wants amnesty for illegals, and is for massive tax increases for more social programs. Yea, that's going to make him popular in Arizona...

The Democrats just don't get it. It isn't enough that Trump is unpopular or doing stuff they don't like. They have to offer realistic alternatives and in the US that doesn't include a Progressive Leftist agenda of more taxes, more social spending, and caving in to every whim of Progressive dogma. It just won't work. So, I think the Democrats are going to get blindsided again in November.
