I'm surprised this didn't show up here faster. I guess everyone was equally embarrassed for him?

Maybe he should yell "...I hear you" while he rushes in...

          Um, they are identified statistically.
          You know, like this:

Concealed handgun permit holders are extremely law-abiding. In Florida
and Texas, permit holders are convicted of misdemeanors or felonies at onesixth
the rate that police officers are convicted.

If teachers behave like the typical concealed carry holder, they will statistically be less of a risk to students than anyone else. CC holders commit fewer crimes on a percentage basis than the police do.

A LEO can likely shed more light on this, but it is my understanding that they use a locking holster that makes it very difficult for someone to take the gun from them.

In a real shooter situation, you are really more worried that a Teacher may accidentally harm someone than of the shooter continuing to kill? The same risk exists with cops, but we accept that risk.
We recommend a lockbox with a thumbprint reader. You put your thumb in the slot, and the box pops open.

That way there is no danger of being disarmed, and also by putting such a box in every classroom and staff area (they are not expensive), a potential active shooter will not know which staff are armed and which are not.

You can also program it to accept multiple thumbprints.

It is in use in growing numbers of schools across Texas.

The key to this program is deterrence; active shooters are not looking for a fight, they are looking for slaughter. They will move to a venue where the targets are undefended.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

Seriously? How long will it take for every kid to know which rooms have the lockboxes?

Might be better to make the doors lockable immediately and impassable until unlocked from the inside, and to set up a system of automatic doors triggered by an alarm that closes the school into compartments that cannot be breached buy a shooter.

That was the most egregiously false statement that he has made since he began his run for president.

Nothing in his past would indicate that he would have the courage to face gunfire willingly or to attack anyone who was shooting up a school.

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.
