So.....the weapon of choice in this incident was a Squad Automatic Weapon? Or Submachine Gun? Or so on?

Um....I have none, and that includes both of my Class III Agency issued weapons. They're Class III for being SBR and SBS respectively.

And once again, I see yet another case of 'terrifying assault weapon' usage....which the actual nature of the weapon was utterly irrelevant. The body count could easily be achieved through the use of a bog-standard 12ga shotgun with the factory 4 round magazine and a bookbag of shells. But it's leftist nature. They cannot either accept that there is evil in the world, or that they need to deal with controlling mental illness, and so they focus on an item. Because obviously if you take away everyone's access to everything that has any possibility of causing harm to anyone, then no matter how evil or crazy someone is they'd never hurt anyone.

Only class 3 licence owners can own automatic weapons in the US and they aren't responsible for the mass murders in the US the only option would be to ban semi automatic weapons and that's as likely to happen as getting support to ban all free web porn sites.
Mass murders aren't a recent US phenomenon when semiautomatic firearms aren't used anymore it'll be another method.

So a legitimate question, did metallurgy let us down in the 20th century? My old Swedish Mouser is more accurate than any thing that I've seen on the market.

A Valentines day massacre. The hope is people everywhere can learn from this and embrace equality, peace and love... a round table spirit if you will.

Um, with the exception of some unicorns, you can relatively easily acquire firearms far more accurate than anything that was manufactured prior to around 1945. Metallurgy, machine tools, ammunition, etc have improved vastly. Of course there is the flip, that such precision is really unnecessary for most uses/ranges, so people accept a lower precision for either lower cost or lighter weight.

I got a couple of 1909 Argentine. Convince me that there's a better beast. I like the Swede because its a lighter round and does the job. Finnish war?

We are not a civilized country, we were in the 1940s though.

We no longer take the needs of boys seriously in public schools. When our education system's teachers are 85% + females, there's a problem. When the curricula is geared to what might be called a nerd / female liberal arts one there's a problem.

The result is that many boys in the school system now feel marginalized and that they're not getting anything useful out being there. This and a feeling of general worthlessness is leading to them lashing out.

The Leftist will argue that government is the answer. Another law, more police, banning 'bad stuff." They think that rules can't and won't be broken when all it really means is that those stupid enough to obey all the rules end up being @$$ raped by those that don't. Then the Left wonders why their solution didn't work and calls for yet more rules.

The left wants the law abiding to be the sacrificial lamb. Democrats are assholes.

                              My worst jump story:
My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.
As recorded on my DA Form 1307 Individual Jump Log.
                              No lie.

As usual, we get a few from a nation that managed to go from superpower to non-entity in a single generation trying to tell us how to live. Obviously, Human suffering must be exploited at every opportunity.

As to why school shootings occur, they will continue to occur so long as the right combination of exterior stressors and internal mental issues combine.

As noted, it is a numbers game: more people, more right combinations.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.
