    Just as a sidenote.

Federal immigration agents raided 77 businesses in Northern California this week, demanding proof that their employees are legally allowed to work in the United States, officials said Thursday.

It was believed to be the largest such localized sweep of workplaces by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency since President Trump took office. ICE agents swept into nearly 100 7-Eleven stores nationwide last month and arrested 21 suspected undocumented immigrants.

Thomas Homan, the agency’s acting director, has called for a “400 percent increase” in such workplace operations.

ICE did not identify any of the businesses its agents visited in the Bay Area and the Sacramento region Monday through Wednesday. The businesses were served notices of inspection and given three working days to comply, and no immediate arrests were made.

Experts were struck by the scale of the operation.

“Serving 77 notices of inspection on different employers in the last three days within a single area of responsibility, in this case, San Francisco, appears unprecedented,” said Angelo Paparelli, an immigration attorney in Los Angeles with the firm Seyfarth Shaw LLP.

James Schwab, a spokesman for ICE, said the raids the reflected “stepped-up” efforts to enforce laws prohibiting businesses from hiring undocumented workers.
The operation is part of a strategy, he said, “focused on protecting jobs for U.S. citizens and others who are lawfully employed, eliminating unfair competitive advantages for companies that hire an illegal workforce, and strengthening public safety and national security.”

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

Service jobs wont cut it, and the factory jobs in the USA are not what they used to be. We do not need Tesla to come in with their arrogance.

America became strong during WW2 because the middle class built America. Men without a high school education worked the steel mills and other good paying industrial factory type jobs and fought in WW2.

The few conservative Trumpers who bash liberals and praise materialism are going agaisnt men of the past such as Andrew Carnegie and Henry Ford.

These jobs Trump touts are not cutting it. The mindset of being appeased or happy with some 15$ an hour job is a threat to America. Some people indeed in this country are happy to making 13 or 15 $ an hour, I am quite taken away by this mindset. We won ww2 in part because the middle class was strong and at times even willing to fight for their rights. Anyone here in their 50s-60s+ will know the major US cities are not what they used to be, the hope is the USA can become the great country it once was,

We are in the early stages of a technological revolution... The Electronics Revolution. Like the Industrial Revolution before it, there will be social and economic upheaval as how everything is done changes. In the early Industrial Revolution people moved from rural areas to urban ones as jobs moved from agriculture to manufacturing.
Today jobs are moving from manufacturing to things like code writing (computer) and service ones. Where this will go is anyone's guess but it won't bring back factory jobs, that's for sure. Automation is where manufacturing is headed.

Things change and in times of great technological change things change a lot. That upsets a big chunk of the populace who can't cope with what's happening.

So this was a "non-action" designed to look like someone was doing real work when they weren't. Three days to clear out all the illegals and straighten out the records? Seriously? No notice is the norm for sweeps that actually mean something.

So, the "Experts" were really just pro-illegal immigration types who are upset that ICE is arresting their clients and potential clients.
