          I'm sure that's just a Strawman argument!

The First Amendment applies to SMS, Emails, Blogs, online news, the Fourth applies to your cell phone, computer, and your car, but the Second only applies to muskets?

What's next? The little umbrellas and the plastic sword skewers for the olives? How about the little doilies? The caps on racks or roasts?

Do plastic straws only break the backs of plastic camels? Or do they work on the fur hump ones as well?

The basis of this act of insane lunacy is to "raise awareness of environmental pollution".

Question of the century: if an illegal working as a waiter in a sanctuary city breaks this law, can he be punished?

Id like to clarify that #AB1884 (Straws Upon Request) is (a) NOT a ban; (b) should it become law, it will NOT make it a crime for servers to provide plastic straws. My intention is simply to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic straws on our environment.

Well this is the state that ran Campbell's soup off for operating a biofuel generation plant...

                            http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...927-story.html

One of the reasons cited for this was the plant ran a biofuel generation plant that powered the factory. Basically, Campbell's was burning all their vegetable waste generated from soup making to power the factory. But California stepped in with their Carbon tax plan and was going to slap a big tax on the factory for generating carbon.
So, Campbell's closed the plant, fired the workers, and moved elsewhere.

Oh, did I mention the $500,000 in two orders I got while in the Navy to make "Shore power cable cradles?" These cost about $1500 in materials each and I was making them by the dozen. At one point I had a parking lot full waiting shipment.
Anyway, these were to store shore power cables (a giant extension cord to plug a ship in and power it electrically while in port). Reason? California didn't want the Navy dragging these around from the storage yard to the pier or on the piers. Their reasoning was small amounts of tiny rubber particles might be scrubbed off and end up in the bay (horribly bad for some reason).

I had to wonder why they were letting thousands of cars and trucks drive around the base on rubber tires... But then, insane people don't make rational sense...

One thing they don't seem to grasp is corrosion control. Witness the never ending paint job on the Golden Gate.

Now instead of using modern coatings they continue to use old products that pollute the environment. https://north-america.international-...in-focus/devoe

So what exactly is the effect of the straws?
