    Putin Calls Trump an Imperialist
    ...
The Kremlin slammed President Donald Trump’s national security strategy on Tuesday, calling it imperialist and saying the U.S. is unwilling to accept a multipolar world.

“We cannot agree with an attitude that sees our country as a threat to the United States,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters a day after Trump revealed his national security strategy. “A quick read of the parts of the strategy that mention our country one way or another... [shows] an imperialist character.”

Trump revealed his administration’s national security strategy on Monday, announcing that his signature “America First” slogan will be a guiding principle of his administration’s foreign policy. The document outlining the administration’s official strategy repeatedly mentions Russia and China as two rival powers who “challenge American power, influence and interests, attempting to erode American security and prosperity.”

Or, he did, and like any man with a backbone, he couldn't care less.

Russia and China Object to New ‘America First’ Security Doctrine

      EXCERPT:
MOSCOW — Officials in Russia and China pushed back on Tuesday against the characterization of their countries as threats to the United States in a new national security doctrine published by the White House a day earlier.
A spokesman for the Kremlin criticized Mr. Trump’s foreign policy strategy as having an “imperialist character” while the Chinese Embassy in Washington suggested that the document’s theme of “America First” reflected “outdated, zero-sum thinking.”
Every United States administration is obliged to publish its national security strategy, giving Congress a guide for its intended policies around the world. The 68-page doctrine the White House released Monday described Russia and China as “revisionist” powers for seeking a change in the American-led world order.

If Russia and China don't want to be considered a threat, then maybe they shouldn't act like they are. It's actually that simple.
The First Amendment applies to SMS, Emails, Blogs, online news, the Fourth applies to your cell phone, computer, and your car, but the Second only applies to muskets?

That's funny ... because the last time I checked Russia and China are the only countries that still go around occupying land without the consent of the governed (Crimea, Tibet, Hong Kong, etc). They are the imperial powers of our time.

The United States hasn't annexed anything since 1976 (Northern Mariana Islands) ... and that was with the consent of the governed under a United Nations mandate. We didn't just sail into Saipan harbor and say "Right, we're in charge now".

You mean the same Donald that openly stated that he did not believe that Putin's Russia meddled with American elections?

                    MANILA —
Two former U.S. intelligence officials slammed President Trump Sunday for saying believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin "feels that he and Russia did not meddle" in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

However, it takes a remarkable amount of chutzpah for anyone in Russia to , particularly Putin, call the Donald an inperialist. Russia is the same country that helped itself to a healthy slice of Georgia and has sprouted roots in about 50% of the Ukraine. But sorry, the Donald does not get a pass here. In case you forgot he is the same dipstick that was singing the praises of Putin, and that is not fake news!

Common sense says the latter can still be true. You know who else is an imperialist? Clinton. But, if you're Russia you rather have an inexperienced Trump at the helm who also brings additional division into the country.

Didn't George W Bush "look into Putin's eyes" and find goodness? Didn't Barack Obama -- with Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State -- want to "reset" relations with Russia? The fact is, under Putin's leadership, Russia has taken its petrodollars and plowed them into a more assertive, more aggressive, foreign policy. Aside of separating Putin from his petrodollars, there's not much short of war that can dissuade Putin from his present course. Republican or Democrat, I think that we'll all be pretty hard pressed to find anyone who wants a direct confrontation with Russia.

Not that I want to make this comparison man-to-man, but with respect to other powers' apprehension of direct confrontation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin rather resembles Adolf Hitler: everybody's waiting around hoping that someone else to do something about him.

And we all recall how well that worked in 1939. Don't we.

Is Putin regressing back to his Communist roots?

A longtime US intelligence hand, whose name eludes me at the moment , recently testified before Congress that Russia has endeavored to influence and meddle in the domestic affairs of other countries since at least the 1930s. (It seems that the old codger forgot about Trotsky's support of Germany's 1919 abortive communist revolution -- but I digress. ) Does that render all of the "fellow travelers here -- from Dalton Trumbo to Alger Hiss to William Ayres to Ron Dellums to Bill and Hillary Clinton in the '60s -- potential "clear and present" dangers to national security? Would that not mean that -- despite his loudmouth bullying antics and degenerate alcoholism -- that Joseph McCarthy was right about the Communists all along?
