    Indeed. This thread was petty.

Yes. That was the petty part.

Trump mimics Obama, who mimicked his predecessor who mimicked his predecessor who mimicked his predecessor who mimicked his...ad infinitum.

This is what politicians do...So what?

Regardless of your intentions...I found the thread informative. The media doesn't report on anything positive about Trump. Fox News probably covered it but I rarely watch TV nowadays. I had no clue he did this, I thought he flew in for a photo-op and then flew right back out.

I found that the photo doesn't do it justice. This video really shows how much the people like and appreciate Trump being there on the ground with them.

Presidents showing up to distribute food or or other photo ops is routine. Remember the infamous photo op of Lil' Bush after Katrina? Or Lil' Bush's comical photo op on that carrier in his flight suit? This is what politicians do. It is NOT news worthy, nor does it matter if everyone before them did it too. In fact, because their predecessors did it, they have to do it themselves or fall short. Fact is, if Trump hadn't done it, the same snowflakes would then have accused him of not caring and loudly trumpeted that "Obama did it".

It's time to move on, people. Life is short and we still have a long ways to go, although unquestionably, many here are not going to make the journey, too bogged down in trivial baggage to keep up..

It is just amazing how fake news persists and permeates.

                  1)The Obama Family:

The picture of the Obama's was put out by some idiot that claimed they were serving victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. It was actually at a homeless shelter during Thanksgiving 2015. So many idiots believed it that Obama spokesperson had to tell CNN that Obama IS NOT IN TEXAS.

                  2)George W Bush:

The plastic turkey was fake news created by Mike Allen. Even left-leaning Snopes called it "False".

How gullible and hateful of GWB must one be to think this turkey was fake?

                  3)Lunch boxes:

Anyone that has done volunteer emergency work knows it always a box or bag. In this case, those are Red Cross boxes.

                    Grading Trump, Week 32
                    ...
Hurricane Harvey has brought out the best in President Trump.

Trumpís strength isnít policy. Itís not empathy. Itís cheerleading. He said it himself during the campaign: ďThis country needs a cheerleader, somebody with great enthusiasm.Ē Trump has obviously put his focus on the aftermath of the hurricane, and the people of Texas know it; more importantly, Trumpís administration has done a good job of coordinating resources with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. Thereís been no moaning about lack of federal responsiveness. Thatís a big win for Trump.

The pettiness and smarmy responses by Trump supporters and opponents over something so trivial sorta reinforces how much our nation loves self-satisfied outrage more than anything resembling open dialogue.

At this point, Trump haters would crucify Trump for adopting a kitten from a shelter ("Why didn't he adopt more?"), and Trump supporters would defend Trump beating that kitten to death ("Pest control.").

Which, while more visible in many ways today, isn't that far removed from what we saw during Obamas and Bushs reign. Partisan blindness is not original, and all too common.

At least they're being honest on one hand, but lowering their standards on the other. Trump is not a presidential leader, empathetic or political expert (far from it), however I can certainly see how he can be viewed as a cheerleader. This nation needs more than a cheerleader though, especially in today's climate. But, if that's all his supporters wanted, I guess you can't be disappointed when the bar is set that low.

Are you really critizing Trump for feeding Harvey victims?
