  • Harriet Tubman on the Twenty Dollar Bill

I was browsing tonight online and found we have something else to thank Obama for. He okayed putting out a new Twenty Dollar Bill with Harriet Tubman on the face. What are these people smoking? What else is coming, a Three Dollar Bill with William Jefferson Clinton on it?

Pruitt, you are truly an expert! Kelt06

Have you been struck by the jawbone of an ASS lately?

        Why not?

        “To talk of many things:
        Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
        Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
        And whether pigs have wings.”

In relative terms Tubman was a nobody in history elevated to a somebody because of political correctness and Social Justice.

Tend to agree. There are many more prominent blacks in American history than her.

I'd say one that's forgotten is Elizabeth Jennings. Far more progress from her than Harriett Tubman or Rosa Parks. Most people never heard of her. But, she was upper middle class, relatively conservative and mainstream, and lived in New York (as a free person) in the pre-civil war years so she's no darling of the Left.

                http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/13/ny...streetcar.html

She single handedly got segregation on New York City streetcars and other public transit desegregated in 1855. So, she didn't simply protest or be a mere cog in the machine, she did something about it.

                    Why not Crispus Attucks?

"Crispus Attucks (c.1723—March 5, 1770) was the first person killed in the Boston massacre, in Boston, Massachusetts, and is widely considered to be the first American killed in the American Revolution"

I could except that, if we need to change it in the first place.

Unbelievable bullshit, she already has two historical sites for what? Yeah, I know her history but still nothing for that value. Tear down her statue.

Doesn't rank to the level of Jackson's accomplishments.

Why does it have to be a black person? I see no problem with Jackson, the man gets a bum rap for forming the country.
