  • Michael Flynn registers as a foreign agent for...

    Turkey.

He admits lobbying for Turkey during the presidential campaign.

In late October and early November, Flynn wrote an op-ed promoting Turkey's political and business affairs that was later published in The Hill, a Washington-based political newspaper. In the new filing, Flynn disclosed that in writing the op-ed, he relied on research conducted as part of the Inovo BV contract.

Flynn is a skunk of the first order. That's one of the reasons why he was fired at DIA.

So the guy was a lobbyist.

True of probably half or more of the appointees in every administration, regardless of party, for the last fifty years.

Trump was going to drain the swamp...

Fourth: I am going to issue a lifetime ban against senior executive branch officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.
Fifth: I am going to ask Congress to pass a campaign finance reform that prevents registered foreign lobbyists from raising money in American elections.
And we find his pick for NSA was working for a foreign government.

Lobbyist for a foreign government. That doesn't turn this into a 007 script.

It would help if you had a clue as to how the system works.

There are very few people at the top of the private sector who have not been lobbyists or employed lobbyists.

I expect there are more than a few former lobbyists on this board.

                    Michael Flynn and Turkey

This was covered on Spicer's press conference today, and all Spicer could do was dance around the subject.

There is a definite lack of judgment, among other things, in the Trump White House.

And, no, this isn't insignificant and it is important.

Once again, Flynn proves himself to be a scoundrel of the first order.

Your concern about the corruption in the Trump White House is noted.

And the 'Trump team' knew about it:

And, this is no way for a retired US Army general to act.

It is becoming easier to see why he was fired as head of the DIA.

The NY times is using the word agent, that Flynn was an agent for Turkey, Well the fact is that like every other profession, journalism is not perfect.

US history tells us of sleazebag journalists such as Pulitzer and Hearst so I would remind folks that the "fake news" viewpoint should not always be dismissed.

I don't know what to believe wrt Flynn. But I will say that it should not be allowed for a US Gov employee to accept money from foreign lobbyists....and doing so should result in some sort of jail sentence.

Flynn was just not a 'government employee' but a retired general officer, who specialty was intelligence, and who had held at least a top secret clearance. That is a major problem here-and he should be prosecuted and sent to jail.
