Could you imagine a military officer leading by consensus? How about a corporate CEO wanting consensus from his workers?

That idea is full of crap... Consensus... politicians do it simply because they need others to buy in and support a bill, decision, or whatever. Leaders don't need that.
There's a significant difference between finding consensus (what you're referring to) and molding it which is what the complete quote speaks to. I paraphrased it. A molder of consensus would be able to get these officials to trust in and follow his strategy.

Yes a good leader needs his men to believe in him, his ideas and his leadership. Imagine a military where the subordinates had 0 faith in and did not want to follow their leaders.

Let's face it. Liberal Democrats' only idea of consensus is to do exactly as they want (but not necessarily do themselves).

How was MLK not a leader? The man led a civil rights movement.

Molded, for the 2nd time now. A leader does not find consensus.

The full quote is, "A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus."

A true leader creates the vision and is able to sell his team on it.

Do we really have to sit here and discuss what MLK was able to do or is this just another way to diminish a minority.
