  • Trump and the Russians...

If Trump believes we can be friends and allies with Putin he is gravely mistaken, nave, or just plain ignorant.

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

        Realpolitik dominates all.

Russia has lost the Ukraine, and is being held together by one strongman; long-term friendship it out, but by getting closer with them now we add to China's insecurities, and the PRC are the real enemy at the moment.

The snowflakes are hating on Russia because it is possible that the truth about the Hillabeast and the DNC came out because of Russian software.

And above all, the snowflakes hate the truth.
Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

Given that the Russians are transporting our astronauts and supplies to and from the ISS, why the paranoia?

Imagine what the world map would look like of Russia and America had the same alliance that we used to have with Britain.

Because Queen Hillary needed a boost for the election cycle, and those people are pathologically incapable of admitting they were wrong.
            Ever.
Here is the key - let a couple of weeks go by, pretend you have forgotten about it, and they will feel that it is safe to speak rationally about Russia again.

The Donald is just getting some pointers from Putin just in case the "masses" decide that he didnt look after them and start getting agitated and upset with him and riot, then The Pres can turn loose his command dogs and do "a Putin" and open up some re-education camps...You will love The Donald...or else!!!

                It would indeed.

As for the Hildebeast, she's history and perhaps America can normalize again after eight destructive years.

It would be nice to be friends with Russia for a change, just so the load of standing off world hatred could be shared by another significant world power. We could wield huge leverage on many things by acting together.

Russia and the USA could help the Jihad and Crusade against ISIL and ISIL like groups around the world.

Clinton got along with the Russians as long as it put money in her pocket.

You don't believe the Russians to be both a problem and a threat?

Perhaps your appreciation historically is just a little out of whack.

The Russians are not our friends and they are guilty of mass murder in Syria.

This is exactly what I would love to see. China is the big threat of the foreseeable future not Russia. If we could both get over the Cold War it could be highly beneficial for both of us. We got along great before 1917 and we certainly could again. We certainly have more in common with the Russians than with some of our current "allies" like the Saudis or Turks.

We've been propping up European interests that are increasingly distant from our own and subsidizing the defense of their welfare states for too long at the expense of a relationship with Russia. There are no friends in geopolitics and I think it's time we find out who could really benefit us most instead of the other way around.

I'm not sure what the best balance is these days to be honest. The strength of an insecure giant who needs to be handled delicately or the wealth of a collection of multicultural socialists who refuse to pull their own weight. The real conundrum is that the countries in Europe who seem to best get it are the ones in the east close to Russia, rather than the western ones who seem to have their heads in the sand. I doubt there's an easy answer but maybe we should rock the boat a bit and see who jumps ship or climbs on.
