When the response began by referring to "the fact-based narrative" the CIA lost any chance of winning this one.

Our intelligence agencies have been pathetic in their claims of defending America. 9/11 alone proved that.

Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

I have no doubt that the Russians hacked Michigan's paper ballot system and hacked into those stand alone optical scanners in Wisconsin... You just can't trust them russkies'...

After all, Jill Stein said they did. That's why we need to recount the ballots by hand...

Who has been hiring at the CIA for the last eight years?
              My worst jump story:
My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.

CIA director John Brennan is rumoured to be a secret Muslim. Converted by the Saudis during his time there. A real deal Manchurian candidate. The scene in Zero Dark Thirty where the CIA guy is shown with his prayer rug praying is said to be in honor/taking the **** of Brennan.
If its true it would explain a lot of the CIAs strange positions in Syria, eg. The Pentagon backed the Kurds whilst the CIA bedded down with al Qaeda affiliates.

Ever Federal Agency needs to be audited by a fact finding team selected by some sort of popular election process and given unlimited clearance.

Trump's team is making a serious mistake. The CIA is more than a decade removed from the Weapons of Mass Destruction debacle, which occurred under a two different administration, one being a Republican one. Furthermore, this is the same agency he will likely turn to for evidence to support his policies in the future.

At the very least, Trump should try to avoid the issue until he has some real control over the CIA. They had significant evidence now to Congress, he could have a potential scandal brewing. Any action he takes against the intelligence community could be seen as a cover-up, and eventually harm his administration and policy.

For the Democrats, it has to consider the repercussions. Even if there is evidence of the Russians were behind the hacks, it doesn't mean the President-elect benefited from the effort. Hell, I haven't seen a study into how much the e-mail leaks harmed Hillary Clinton's campaign. It was her earlier email scandal that did more harm IMHO.

The CIA has nothing to do with preventing hacking in the US.

                            And the pay off:

                            http://www.politico.com/story/2016/1...f-state-232466

President-elect Donald Trump is likely to select Rex Tillerson, the longtime CEO of ExxonMobil with deep ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as his secretary of state, according to two people close to the presidential transition team.
Tillerson ties to Russia and Putin stretch back to the 1990s, and he has been critical of the U.S. sanctions imposed in 2014 that have constrained Exxon’s work in the country.
Love seeing the con's here do a 180 flipflop.

In 2011, Tillerson joined Putin at his vacation home to sign a lucrative deal that allowed Exxon to explore oil fields in Russia’s Arctic. In exchange, state-controlled oil company OAO Rosneft was allowed for the first time to acquire ownership stakes in Exxon projects in the United States. Putin later awarded Tillerson with the “Order of friendship,” one of Russia’s highest honors, for the company’s “big contribution to developing cooperation in the energy sector.”
Ah, the good old "Order of Friendship" issue to him by Putin. Love it.

The US government is launching a massive effort to stop Russia from hacking the election

The US government is launching a massive effort to stop Russian hackers from interfering with the results of next week's presidential election, according to a major report from NBC News.

The White House and the Department of Homeland Security are leading the effort against Russian cyber-meddling, government officials told NBC News. The CIA, National Security Agency, and other US intelligence entities are also involved, the officials said.

FBI working to prevent election cyber hacks

The Department of Homeland Security says "all hands are on deck" to protect our election from a cyber-attack.

America's top intelligence officials say they expect Russian hackers, or others, to at least try to disrupt the process, but whether or not they will be successful is the big question.

The government is so concerned about a possible cyber hack, that the Department of Homeland Security, Justice Department, FBI, Pentagon, and CIA have all brought in extra staff to hunt for possible threats.
