  • Just Another 'Typical' Politician...

    ...who, I believe, is going to have some very serious ethical issues to deal with.

    Trump is rewarding his donors already:

    It's going to be a very long four years...
    We are not now that strength which in old days
    Moved earth and heaven; that which we are we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts
    Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
    To strive to seek to find and not to yield.

    We will have the tears and wails of the snowflakes to entertain us.
    Any man can hold his place when the bands play and women throw flowers; it is when the enemy presses close and metal shears through the ranks that one can acertain which are soldiers, and which are not.

      Do you not think had HRC won, that she would have done the same thing?
      Don't waste your time always searching for those wasted years...

        Do you think that in that case the populist supporters would not be crying up a storm about it?

            Well, given the fundraising she had done, much of her cabinet positions were likely already sold, so others would have picked those positions.

            But I guess the idea of auctioning off such positions is more appealing to some...

              Quick question if anyone has the short & quick form;

              How much money was donated to Hillary, and how many donors went over 100k$?
              How much of both for Trump?

                Yes, but Trump was elected, in part, to avoid that. Instead, we're left with the same.

                  Hilary owed a lot of her campaign monies to foreign donors through the Clinton Foundation, so this is nothing new nor is it excessive or unwarranted. It's how the DC game is played.

                    From the link;
                    " The president-elect has defended the backgrounds of his Cabinet picks, saying he is choosing “killers” who know how to win. “I want people that made a fortune,” he told supporters at a rally in Des Moines Thursday night. “Because now they are negotiating with you, okay?” "

                    Hopefully it will be a prosperous four years and offset the negativity of the past eight years.

                      500 mill for the Hillabeast, 100 mill for Trump, roughly.

                      It is the big donors who make up the serious money, but tracking it is tough because they can route funds through employees and subsidiaries.

                          Your, or anyone else's list of alternate choices is ???

                          (Some will not be satisfied unless he was picking more socialist career parasites like we would have gotten with rotten HRC. )

                            Sworn in or elected, he's already acting like every other corrupt politician in this regard.

                            Two wrongs make a right argument? What are you saying? Can someone be willing to raise the bar for a change and stop settling for mediocrity?

                              From the article

                              But longtime watchers of money in politics cannot recall any president in recent history who has filled a Cabinet with so many major donors.

                              “In the past, they were a little hidden — they were sent overseas to be ambassadors,” said David Donnelly, president of Every Voice, an advocacy group that seeks to reduce the influence of wealthy donors on politics. “In this administration, they are going to be front and center making policy.”

                              The president-elect's decision to put his major political backers in senior Cabinet positions is a jarring contrast with Trump's rhetoric through this year's campaign. He repeatedly declared himself independent of wealthy donors and predicted Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's benefactors would “have total control over everything she does.”
