Wow, I wonder what the stromfront, Duke, "Neo Nazi" Trump supporters are thinking about this Jewish man being appointed Secretary of the Treasury. This is just another example that shows Mr Trump is not a bigot.

      Secretary of Education: Betsy DeVos
      • Immensely competent and capable... Insufficient data
      • Washington DC years = 0

The running total of Washington DC years is holding at 55.
Good job, I hope you keep it up!

Obama's inner circle probably add up to Geological Era by now...

Considering the minority anti American viewpoint that Obama is a Muslim...I cant help but wonder what some folks would say about a thread about a scenario of President Keith Ellison appointing a Muslim as Secretary of defense? Maybe oh those darn Muslims are taking over...again based on whats been said about Obama this is why I bring up the example. So I wonder, are we going to hear folks on ACG claim there is a Jewish takeover going on considering the appointment of Mnuchin?

Definition of Washington insider: one who belongs to the exclusive political scene of Washington DC... This might fit Elaine Chao.

The Senate campaigns in Ohio offered up their own definitions...
          What is a D.C. insider?

          Strickland offered his definition:

"A D.C. insider is someone who lives in a bubble and has no idea what life is like for people in the real world," Strickland said. "A D.C. insider is someone who can go out in an evening in Washington, D.C., and spend as much money on a meal as some families have to live on for an entire week. A D.C. insider is more concerned what the power brokers say and think than the man or woman that's trying to earn a living and take care of their kids and support their church and their communities, pay their taxes, and so on."

Portman spokeswoman Michawn Rich's definition of a "D.C. insider" was clearly aimed at Strickland.

"A D.C. insider is someone who prefers Washington, D.C. over the real world, whether it is deciding to live there permanently, running for Congress for four decades, or turning his or her back on Ohio for a paycheck," Rich stated in an email.

When asked what the exact definition of a "D.C. insider" is, Portman himself said he didn't know -- although he didn't hesitate to point out why the label better suits his opponent.

Both political definitions fit whoever you want them to fit.

In the business world, Trump's world, an insider is...
Person who (by virtue of his or her employment or other close association) has insider information on a publicly traded firm. The opportunity of an insider to profit from such information is commonly restricted or prohibited by law. In the US, anyone who holds ten percent or more of the voting shares of a firm is automatically considered an insider.

          Read more:

The equivalent in government would be someone who attempts to profit from their status as an insider. This generally takes the form of government officials immediately going to work as lobbyists after leaving office.
