Polls showing Clinton +2 with a 3 or 5 point margin of error were absolutely accurate.
Come on, it was only a two horse race, pollsters had months to tell us who would win and went with near unanimity for Clinton, as did bookmakers and nearly all 'experts' in the media. It was a watershed moment for pollsters who have seriously lost credibility and will now have to engage in some deep soul searching.

No one is going to buy the margin of error argument when they give themselves 5% either way in a two horse face. Might as well save the money and toss a coin.

It's not a landslide. Although it would have been described as such if Clinton won.

However, the electoral margin isn't even close. If it was close, like 2000, an argument could be made against a mandate. 3:2 is roughly the average electoral margin of the 20th century. Trump has a reasonable claim to an average mandate.

Most of the pollsters and almost all of the pundits failed to grasp how "noisy" the polling data were this year, particularly Trump's numbers.

        • What bothers me the most about Trump being elected were the type of people who supported him. Specifically, the biggest conspiracy theorist that wants to destroy the country, Alex Jones. When you see those type of people on the team, knowing what their goals are, it really makes you wonder.

One thing Jones has wanted and tried to create for the past decade now, is civil unrest and chaos. Which we will have under Trump. It's a matter of time till we're fully fractured. I think it'll take a miracle for us to get through 4 years of Trump without martial law. But, that's just my opinion.

I'm not going to argue against border security, peace with Russia (still unrealistic imo), defeating terror, better trade deals, tax rates, etc. But, none of that is going to matter if we fall apart internally.

These establishment wankers are just having so much trouble coming to terms with this.

Did Moore really support Trump? It seemed to me that he just viewed Clinton as the bigger Anti-Christ.

Which only holds water with people who don't understand what polling means versus what they assume it does. So far we're seeing the national general election polls being absolutely accurate - or at least the reputable ones. People claiming they were in error aren't using the data for a reason, since it refutes their claims about inaccuracy.

What was in error were people looking at polls saying +2 Clinton and assuming that meant the poll was claiming Clinton was going to win the election.

He didn't really support Trump but he did believe that Trump was going to win despite the polling. He called it correctly.

The LATimes/Daybreak poll to me seemed the one that made more sense, and they called it Trump a while back. The methods they use are going to be looked at pretty carefully now since the traditional methods failed.

Not at all. They did NO state projections and they projected him winning the national popular vote by 3 points. They were off more than many of the others.

Actually I do have to retract that regarding Moore. Turns out the right wing sites I saw his speech at edited the video and made it seem like he was endorsing Trump. After watching the full thing, that wasn't the case.

Still, there are white supremacist and Alex Jones who are vehemently behind Trump. Those aren't teammates I can have and feel good about myself. Those are groups of people that want a divided nation.

By this time next year A Jones will be 100% against President Elect Trump. Bank on it.

Barack Hussein Obama was a great man. Trump looked proud when he gave his acceptance speech...well Obama was also proud when he gave his acceptance speech. Nobody can ever take away Obama's years in office. No matter what anti Americans say...Barack Obama was and still is loved by millions of Americans. Instead of insulting Obama and Clinton you should praise them...now that Trump has won its time to be nice to the other side.

Donald John Trump has some work to do, so only time will tell how great of a POTUS Trump will be. What Trump should consider doing is invading North Korea...Trump talks alot...but can he walk the walk like Obama did? Trump says hes going to do things we have not seen before...well I hope that Trump either invades NK or sets up a few aircraft carriers right by NK waters. Arent you tired of Kim Jong running his bigoted mouth...its time for someone to shut up Kim Jong.

These nuances aren't going to carry any weight with the public who were the intended audience of the polls. If you are going to come out and make a call in a two horse race and get it wrong after months of sampling and telling everyone it was going one way, your credibility is going to suffer, and rightly so. Right now the pollster looks like a shaman throwing bones up in the air and making a call based on how they land, or maybe reading sheeps entrails.

There were "non-white" supremacists and racists backing Clinton and your socialist scum like Van Jones whining about how their wealth redistribution schemes will now unravel. And we have the college snowflakes rioting in their usual spoiled manner. As usual, the Left are sore losers and likely not willing to unify, what's new?

Mostly they let their personal feelings and bias over-rule any objectivity. Expect major back-pedaling and CYA.
