  • Why are the media not mentioning this?

This story has been around for a while but, as far as I know, never mentioned on the cable TV channels.

    Until this morning.

CNBC's Andrew Ross-Sorkin mentioned it briefly before being rapidly shut down by Trump's campaign manager.

Until then, I had been thinking it must be one of those internet fake stories put out by fake news outlets. But then, CNBC and the guardian newspaper are hardly fake news outlets.

So why no mention of this on CNN, etc. when they have covered for days far less serious allegations against Donald Trump?

    From: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...d-rape-lawsuit

Trump lawyers given court date over lawsuit alleging rape of 13-year-old

A federal judge in New York has ordered counsel for Donald Trump and the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein to appear in court along with the attorney for a woman referred to only as “Jane Doe” who alleges the Republican presidential nominee raped her when she was 13.

Judge Ronnie Abrams has slated an initial status conference in the civil lawsuit for 16 December in a New York district court.

The order raises the extraordinary prospect, were Trump to win the 8 November battle for the White House, of counsel for a US president-elect being called into federal court in proceedings relating to allegations of rape of an underage girl.

Trump has vociferously denied the accusations, dismissing them as fabrications and slamming the lawsuit as a sham designed to smear him as he runs for highest office. Epstein, an associate of the UK’s Prince Andrew who was convicted of underage sex crimes in Florida in 2008, has also denied the allegations.

The original federal lawsuit, filed in June, alleged that “Jane Doe” was sexually assaulted by Trump in 1994 at Epstein’s Manhattan home. Further claims were made that the real estate billionaire raped the then teenager at parties hosted by Epstein on the Upper East Side.

Because they haven't been desperate enough to come up with trash like this until now.
Its just another case of trying to smear a guy who has had super-models throwing themselves at him for the last 40 years.
C'mon, does this sound rational to you?

Sarah Palin had 142 frivolous lawsuits thrown at her between the time she was picked in 2008 and the election. How many of those lead to anything real?

Lawsuits are pretty meaningless in this context.

Sounds more rational to cover this than the frivolous "Trump grabbed my leg" type allegations that outlets like CNN have devoted hours and hours of coverage to.

So why cover those allegations and avoid even mentioning this one?

Because a lawsuit requires documentation to file. That same documentation can be used by Trump's people to beat the Dems with.

A verbal allegation, on the other hand, can be repeated endlessly.

Because, they have learned that if they have zero proof of the allegation, Trump WILL sue them for slander.

"Lawsuits accusing Donald Trump of sexually assaulting a child in the 1990s appear to have been orchestrated by an eccentric anti-Trump campaigner with a record of making outlandish claims about celebrities.

Norm Lubow, a former producer on the Jerry Springer TV show, has previously been involved with disputed allegations that OJ Simpson bought illegal drugs on the day Simpson’s wife was murdered, and that Kurt Cobain’s widow had the Nirvana frontman killed.

Court filings in California and New York against Trump, purportedly on behalf of a woman using the name Katie Johnson, have in recent weeks alleged that the presumptive Republican presidential nominee raped Johnson when she was 13. Trump vehemently denies the allegations...."

Trump's upcoming child rape court case (coming in mid December) was just mentioned by someone on CNN.

Not discussed or elaborated on. Just mentioned.

Doesn't seem like that would be a case for a defamation lawsuit. Just mentioning the fact of the upcoming court case.

Its a very good question Philip. The received wisdom on this board (ie. most of it) is that 'the MSM' is out to get Trump & is happy to reproduce the lies of a dozen women who claim he assaulted them. We are assured that none of this is true, and have even witnessed the bizarre spectacle of people claiming knowledge of 1970s/80s aircraft design that they clearly don't possess as 'proof' that one of these claims is a lie.

OK, so lets assume this is all true - 'the MSM' publishing lies to sink Trump.

How does that square with this case. The allegations were around before the tape of Trump admitting to sexual assault prompted the other women to come forward. Not a word in the 'MSM' despite overseas publications & a few obscure ones in the US reporting it. In fact, at the height of that particular storm a judge set a date for the allegations to be heard. Still nothing. An allegation with the ability to sink Trump like a stone treated like it isn't there.

Yet when asked why the allegation wasn't reported the response from those who have been pushing the 'lying women' line is that 'the MSM' isn't touching the allegations because there is no proof.

That is some major league logical yoga.

This has a little bit of credibility if you remember that one of Trump's entourage is a convicted pedophile. If I recall this rape was at a party thrown by that guy...or maybe not. (There is so much bad stuff that Trump pulled in his life it's hard to keep it all straight.)
