One of my issues with Iraq was the blatant lie that it's invasion was that it was directly related to 9/11, and that Saddam was also linked to 9/11. Another Issue was the mismanagement Iraq post Saddam. The lack of a coherent plan on what to do with Iraq post-Saddam created a power vacuum that the Islamic terrorists were more than happy to fill.
Saddam was also the leading sponsor of Islamic terrorism at the time. He paid Palestinian families of suicide bombers tens of thousands of dollars in reward for their sons offing themselves by explosion.
He had diplomats in the Philippines that were tossed out of the country weeks before the invasion for handing large sums of cash to Muslim terrorists there (Read that one in the Gulf Daily News in Bahrain at the time).
There is good evidence that Mohammed Atta and Hani Hanjour, two of the ringleaders of 9/11 both made multiple visits to the Iraqi embassy in Hamburg Germany while in Europe. Neither is an Iraqi citizen.
The 9/11 terrorists got financed from somewhere to attend expensive flight schools in the US, like Emory Riddle in Prescott AZ, and had money for living expenses as well.
Three major terrorist training camps were found in Iraq post invasion. A Red Brigade member showed up at the Frankfurt airport days before the invasion to surrender to German police. She was hiding out in Bagdad and didn't want to be caught by US forces as they'd likely try her for firebombing night clubs with GI's in them in Germany back in the 70's and the US would likely sentence her to death versus the 30 years she'd get in Germany...

There was plenty of reason to drain Saddam's swamp. Aside from that, if it hadn't of happened there is every possibility that Al Qaeda would have moved to Iraq in part or whole to avoid US forces in Afghanistan. Even bin Laden could have done that to avoid capture.
Then you're back at square one. You have to invade to get bin Laden. As it was he hid in Pakistan for years but at least Pakistan wasn't trying to shield him from capture as Saddam would have done.

Yeah, all those waitress/cleaning lady/busboy positions are really pulling in the big bucks. Generating tax revenue and making durable goods is two entirely different things. Trump couldn't hold Ford/Edison/Carnegie's jockstrap.

Generating tax revenue keeps cities from going bankrupt.

Casinos don't just need cleaning staff. Most successful casinos have security staff larger than most police agencies, and are often better paid than local LE. (no coincidence most are ex-LEOs).

Casino staff, hotel staff, and the effect of paychecks rolling into the city...the list is endless.

So, how many manufacturing jobs has your business created, John?

Take an Economics class and get back to me. I can see that the whole "create something of value" thing is way over your head. Here's a quick question---how do banks create money?---no googling allowed.

A job is a job, it's better than a part time job which a lot of people have these days, thanks to BOBocare!

You have no clue to what you are talking about. Virtually all the large casino resort jobs in Vegas and Atlantic City ARE UNIONIZED and pay well. Even Trump's is unionized. We're not talking about the maid at Motel 6 or the busboy at the greasy-spoon diner. Casinos create jobs - and even if those jobs are as pitiful as you think, what would those poor cretins do if there were no jobs? They will mysteriously get a higher paying job if there were no casinos?

I spend 5 days in Vegas every year for a convention. I do not gamble and I am an insomniac. I'm the one talking to the bartenders, cocktail waitresses, and the housekeepers. I used to run a large hotel so I speak their language. I will take them telling me how good the money is over your uninformed rant any day any time.

                Just for a start:

How about answering my question: What have YOU accomplished? Trump has created thousands of jobs.

The Hillabeast never created any private sector jobs, and the paper candidates the bush league puts up to keep the nutjobs entertained are a joke.

I'm not the one who ran for president using my background as a "jobs creator". Besides, Obama created more jobs in my industry than anyone else.

                      Can't argue that.

Exactly what did BO do to "create jobs" in your industry?

Did he assume control of your company? The industry?
Did he push through laws that made doing business easier? Did he reduce the burdens on your industry?
Did he increase government spending in your industry?
I would submit the last one doesn't really "create jobs" as it still burdens everyone and forces us to spend more in taxes.

In President Elect Trumps case he owns a Hotel in LV, not a casino. The workers voted to form a union last Dec. Trump Entertainment has kept them locked up in hearings at the labor board etc ever since.

                            http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/30/us...bjections.html

About 500 employees who clean the hotel and prepare and deliver food and drinks to guests narrowly approved unionizing in a vote in December. But the hotel has been challenging the vote, contending that it “was anything but free and fair,” and appealing a regional National Labor Relations Board decision in March that certified the union.

On Thursday, the board’s national headquarters in Washington rejected the hotel’s requests for another round of review. The Culinary Workers Union, which has been supporting the union drive and representing the workers, hailed the decision as a significant victory that should now lead to contract negotiations. Bethany Khan, a union spokeswoman, said it was sending a letter asking for dates for talks to start.
So when the US President is an owner of a big business that has a dispute go the the National Labor Relations Board, just how much chance do you think the worker will have?

                            Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
                            Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
                            And whether pigs have wings.”
