READING, Ohio (AP) — Police say an 18-year-old Ohio woman lied about being attacked by a knife-wielding clown as an excuse for being late for work.

Police in the Cincinnati suburb of Reading say investigators found inconsistencies in 18-year-old Alexsandra Conley's story and charged her with making a false alarm, a misdemeanor.

WCPO-TV reports Conley said someone dressed like a clown jumped a fence Saturday, waved a knife at her and cut her thumb.

PHILADELPHIA POLICE: GIRL,13, MADE 'CLOWN THREATS' TOWARD SCHOOLS

Philadelphia police say they have identified a 13-year-old girl who made so-called "clown threats" toward local schools.

According to investigators, the girl told them this was a "prank" committed with a friend at her school, and she never had any intent to harm anyone.

The case is being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office, police say, as the investigation continues.

It's even more amusing considering all of these have occurred in the past couple of days. It's like Holloween is starting early this year.

Unfortunately, it has gone way past being just a funny prank.

And here I was thinking this was another thread about Hillary and Trump...

I suspect this may be related to gangs that are grouped as "Juggalos." Those are usually White gangs loosely associated with the Insane Clown Posse or ICP.

These 'creepy clown' reports have been going on for probably over a month now. It seems to be primarily occurring east of the Mississippi, I think in started in South Carolina or Tennessee. We've had reports here on Long Island for about a week now.

I would like to know why this started? An idiot dressed up on a clown outfit and stood around acting creepy on the side of the road, it went viral, and now idiots everywhere are doing it?

This made me laugh. I couldn't help but read this in a middle-aged mom's voice when talking to the other girls at her book club about "the drugs".

Oh no, I mean the talking about juggalos like they're a real gang. It's like a parent talking about the danger of "bath salts".

They are listed as such in official law enforcement stuff. That would seem to make them at least at some level actual gangs.

While they are nowhere near as dangerous as say, MS 13 or the Crips or Bloods, they still are basically gangsters.

They're also a living walking joke. Those faygo-drinking fools are a joke - and even the Huffington article points out the flaws in the claims.
But despite the investigation’s lofty goals, the documents — which were made available through a Freedom of Information Act request by the civil liberties technology company OpenWatch — arguably fall short of proving that the Juggalos are an organized gang.

For example, in describing The Gathering of the Juggalos, an annual summer festival held in Illinois, the organization cites an FBI memo from 2008 that notes that out of about 6,000 people, “22 people were arrested on drug related charges, 350-400 traffic violations [were] issued, and one death was linked to heat exhaustion.”

The FBI file also notes that in Sheboygan, Wis., Juggalos “are considered a structured gang” consisting of “at least eight members and six associates, ages ranging from fourteen to twenty-one.” In addition, the document states Sheboygan Juggalos have been “linked to crimes such as graffiti, possession of narcotics and theft ... and have been equated with the ‘dead heads’ of the Grateful Dead.”

And we all know how terrifying the Dead Heads are.

Deadheads per se are not so scary except if you smell them. Notes of essence of cannabinol and patchouli....among other more...umm, natural odors

But, the sightings and the antics that have gone along with them, do fit the profile. So far these clowns haven't been committing violent felonies, just scaring people.
